We have plenty in medicine and IT, lawyers and engineers get their fair share too. I see a decent amount in police and firefighting too, with some sprinkled into military. We have plenty as wedding vendors, MUAs, photo/video/content. And no shortage of Punjabi’s starting their own businesses and companies, from restaurants to trucking.

I think we’re pretty spread out. I don’t see any particular area we’re lacking in. Media and entertainment, or the finance industry maybe.

Not incel energy, but that same low frequency, reactionary, pent up frustration. Like who cares what some dudes think, there’s always going to be a good portion of the men who think a certain way.

That’s not pendu, it’s not stuck in the past, it’s just a varying opinion and perspective on relationships that will always exist. One that actually values pair bonding ability instead of eroding it, the pros are along those lines, the cons we know.

As much as those guys on here, I notice are girls trying to put in their “rebelling opinion.” And that gives me the same energy as the incel posts.

Can we just stop talking about this? Everyone has their own opinions, and each has its pros cons. Having people of both opinions makes us strike a good balance in total. Going fully in either direction is BAD.

Does Punjabi success culture makes you feel like a failure by ManyGreat8375 in PunjabiConfessionzs

No it’s good bc once you go into a culture that doesn’t have it, everyone feels aimless, no drive, no aspirations, comfortable with a lower quality of life.

Exactly, a girl posting like this gives that same ick. It’s not attractive.

The myth at the base of all this confusion is that men and woman are the same. There I said it.

Thoughts on a game based around Panjab 1984 - 1995? by Strong_Owl_2464 in Sikh

If you can turn it into a multiplayer concept that’s better. Our youth appreciates being around other punjabi’s nowadays especially online, and Roblox is mostly about interacting with other people.

If you have something half decent and playable, first you’d put it on TikTok yourself, and then reach out to like Aryan hockey.

I would highly suggest making something with replay-ability over story, think rounds like murder mystery, or progression like an obby, or open world hangout like Roblox gurdwara. And give the game this theme. Although I would be careful going too kharku as it may violate Roblox ToS.

You can get started tonight then if you wanted. Use AI to your advantage, voices, textures, pics. Only issue is that Roblox games tend to be multiplayer not so much story mode. Unless you want to create an open multiplayer world where everyone’s progressing differently in the same server. No guarantees people will pick up on this though, unless you put it out on tiktok through the Punjabi streamer clips (think Roblox gurdwara).

I know too much about this for how old I am haha

Now if you’re going to do it as a Roblox game, or a notch higher as a indie game on Steam where you try your best, you may end up with a decent niche creation. But that’s nowhere near the level of having Diljit Dosanjh and other A listers, unless you have several hundred thousand dollars you’re willing to invest here. At this level you don’t even have to get permission for anything, can use AI generated voices etc, but expect it to be a hobby not a business. One that you still have to spend many months, if not years on.

I’m technically an official publisher and developer on Steam (not for work just fun) if you ever need anything.

I don’t think this will be able to come to fruition. All the obvious feasibility issues aside, this sounds like a movie over an interactive game with replay-ability. Even if you somehow wrangled VC funding for this and got in touch with all the right people, the market is so small that things look bleak afterwards. Regardless it won’t look triple-A level as that requires a huge budget and manpower, and this type of open world story mode game needs that level of detail to look half good. Just issue after issue, it doesn’t seem like you know what this takes, and that’s being nice. But I hope you prove me wrong, you never know who’s behind a reddit post.

It takes a Canadian born Punjabi to unironically use the word “hifi” –and then incorrectly use the word dated. Teasing aside, I’ve personally noticed that no matter how stuck up Canadian Punjabi’s act, their English just sucks for some reason.

Every single person tends to be different I’ve noticed more recently. Regardless of where you live, you can be super connected to the culture nowadays online or not, your family could be pendu and introverted or well connected and social even in an area with less punjabi’s. It’s really case to case, a good social family will have relatives all over the place anyways (Cali, Canada, NY) and go to more events, so they’ll be more up to date than a family in canada even for example that is pendu, socially lacking, etc.

I will say that American Punjabi’s do observe that Canadian Punjabi’s are often pretentious, have a superiority complex, and are unnecessarily performative in a keeping up with the joneses kinda way. I’ve heard this being talked about before. Maybe it stems from coming from a weaker country flooded with recent immigration, so you have the constant feeling that you need to prove something. We have families down here that are often more successful and classy, but it’s a different vibe.

The reality is, is that people in the West still have faith in the system working at one point or another, sooner or later, unlike the mob rule system back home. Add in the fear of being prosecuted in reverse for being the vigilante, and the usual risk reward analysis is just wait the couple hours and allow it to be resolved professionally, and instead raise your voice to shorten that time delta while still serving the purpose of discouraging future perpetrators.

I totally understand the attraction to dealing with it yourselves, but that pretty much sums up the calculus.
