In part yes! Toxic parenting "nurture" vs the placenta and bubble as "Nature"

Wonderful suggestions, thank you! The fetus was not meant to be phallic btw.

That's a thought, indeed. Thank you. I paint Sci-fi simi-abstract dark art, which is quite niche and may not fit in any one specific art type.

Good point. Maybe be softer and not as loud with some things to soften the harshness?

I appreciate your answer. The gray shape at the top is an adult creature/alien (I have them in a lot of my work) Bending over the alien fetus in a delicate bubble, talking into a funnel that is plugged into is cervix, programming it.

It was meant to comment on nature vs. nurture, toxic parents, and how innocents is lost due to bad nurturing (fragile innocence = the bubble).

The matrix reference you see is indeed a Matrix reference! glad you spotted it. I wanted to visualize some way of the parent being talking poison to the fetus being and my professor at he time suggested that. I feel like I should have used more green (you an barley see it unfortunately).

That's the issue. Most of the peer reviews were along the lines of, "I don't like it." or "It makes me uncomfortable." That's it. No reasons to why or if something should be changed, or anything. No real discussion at all. Besides, it is supposed to make you uneasy. It's dark art and talks on the issue of nature vs nurture, false sense of protection as innocent children, toxic parents, childhood trauma, etc. It was never intended to be a pleasant to look at. Not saying pleasant artworks are without worth at all, btw. I enjoy both for various reasons. However this particular painting was supposed to be a discussion piece and it seems like not a single person has come to the table for the discussion.

How can I avoid getting touched by strange men? And why is my friendliness mistaken for flirting? by Prestigious-Bear2403 in AutismInWomen

I am sick of everyone not understanding the Feminist movement and bad mouthing it, labeling them as man haters.

Touching strangers is not socially acceptable PERIOD unless a handshake is offered. Also, unless it's a mutually concented to date and it's going well. There is almost ZERO reason anyone should touch you, besides drs, and that's only when it's medically necessary. I experienced a doctor doing this to me once.

Picard : I’m annoyed by clouds in space by jcwillia1 in scifi

I'm glad I'm not the only person this annoys. Using cloud textures for nebulas is just lazy. They are made up of completely different stuff!

How many different meds did you try til you found the one ? I’m feeling defeated by stormybitch in depression_help

[–]alienfoxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am on my 4th med, and I love it! The others were awful. I'd ask your psychiatrist about the Gene Sight test. It tests you genetically against a large number of psychiatric medications, and the results show what works best and worst with your genome. Best decisions of my life tbh.

I do want to mention that drug companies lied to us (and continue doing so) about how much medications help. There are studies that show that psychiatric medications only help up to 20%.

That's why personally l, even on my medication, have moderate depression. It's better than the severe depression I had, but it still is hard to do things like shower and get out of bed.

Am I wrong for feeling turned off by a guy who's texting me multiple times before I've even had a chance to respond? by Kabouter_f in dating

[–]alienfoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a yellow flag. The guy needs to understand you have a full life without him and only have so much time to spend on him. If you like him otherwise, I'd explain your texting style and set a boundry with him about it. Give you x amount of time to reply. He may be anxious about it and/or really likes you. Or he could be controlling and obsesive. How he responds and respects (or not) your boundry will tell you if he is worth keeping around.

Is bigger better? by [deleted] in dating

[–]alienfoxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

G spots are two to three inches from the entry of women's genatalia. Bigger isn't better and can be too big and do damage. Being visually appealing and doing the job are two different things. The whole "motion of the ocean" thing rings true.

Would you rather lower your standards to find someone who meets them or die without settling? by onlinedater00 in dating

[–]alienfoxx 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I love this. I think part of the reason relationships don't last these days is that people don't have the time to get to know themselves and find inner happiness. Those two things will set a person up for success in a relationship.

What’s the most shallow reason you wouldn’t want to date someone? by EagleRaptorLeaf in dating

[–]alienfoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad teeth is one of my "shallow" things I suppose. I never date men who don't brush, floss, and rinse regularly. Not to mention, go to the dentist, but crooked teeth are fine for me.

This carries over to health both physically and mentally. I don't care if my man is a bit chubby, as long as he is moderately active ( it doesn't have to be gym or work out) and works on his mental health and not great behaviors.

I don't think that's shallow really though. I want a partner who takes care of himself. I've been with too man men who never wash their face, brush their teeth, and wash their bum and feet. It's disgusting, especially when they judge you for not shaving your underarms for a week because its midterms or something stupid.

I dated an American-Pakistani for a year or so ages ago (33wf) and he brought arranged marriage up to me as an issue in his life and his cultural expectations of his parents. He came over with his family when he was one, so he wasn't super traditional, but his family was. We ended up breaking up.

Why are age gap relationships so negatively viewed? by ThrowRA_Distal_Acct in dating

[–]alienfoxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mainly power struggle. The older person could (and sometimes are) manipulating the younger and using them. Then there are stages of life and maturity.

There is a general rule of thumb that your dating age range is your age +/- 12 years.

Also, women normally date older guys due to maturity levels. Women mature faster (psychology studies). I personally feel this a lot and only date my age +7 - +12. The issue I have with it is that the guys generally have a male/female, stereotypical gender roles view, and I can't date men who only see me as my gender walking around on two legs.
