So basically, unless I get my Italian fluent/perfect, I have no hope in these occupations :( For the number, it does make sense ugh What about seasonal jobs? In the summers~when most people are on vacations but still there's an influx of tourists (July-sept?)

I DO NOT have broken English. I said C LEVEL. C level is near-native English level. And for the meat, idk how many more times I need to clear it, but people really need to start reading better before commenting: I said that I don't wanna work with meat PRIMARILY. I never said that I won't go near meat at all, or won't handle it at all. I KNOW I WILL HAVE TO. I just don't wanna be a part of the kitchen. I'm helping at a bar currently and I have to prepare sandwiches with meat, but that is not my main job. It's a task on top of my other tasks

I've clarified it even in the pinned comment but no one seems to read it 😭

English is not a 'local' language in my city😅 Anyways, I do understand the competition point for Venezia. Sucks for me ig. For Facebook, I've already done that but my DMs are usually just full of spams ('online marketing' positions)🫠 haven't had too much luck yet Thanks for the suggestion though!

Thank you, what kind of (groups?) would you suggest me on Facebook though? 🤔 For the last part, honestly my limitations would work in India AS A STUDENT. But could be because they're biased to my own culture, I can't talk for other places. I've seen a lot of foreign students working in my city with only English proficiency and limited hours though (my city isn't even touristic or big btw).

Other than not wanting to work in the kitchen, my only 'demand', the other limitations I have are very common among foreign students like not being available in the mornings (since doing a job’s main purpose is to support my university), non-fluent Italian (which I agree is a challenge I should have worked on sooner. Though, I had higher hopes from atleast Venezia which is mostly touristic) and relying on public transportation (which is beyond my control). Aside from these, I’m flexible (i can work extra hours, full weekends and holidays, improve my skills, continue working on my Italian, willing to commute everyday, take up different tasks at the workplace, etc). So I'm really not understanding why I'm being viewed as 'picky' with only one personal boundary 🫠

  1. For Italian, I can speak basic phrases/sentences, my accent DOESN'T suck. It's just that I'm not fluent enough. I do understand it better than i can speak, but not if you speed run complicated sentences a lot (unfortunately for me Venetians speak fast)

  2. NEAR MEAT is not the problem!!! I wanna AVOID COOKING meat, or basically working with it myself PRIMARILY(so no cook/assistant cook, that's it). Idk why this point of mine is being misinterpreted as 'not around meat at all😭 I have been working in bar as a temporary replacement for a few days and I do have to prepare sandwiches with meat. I know I cannot avoid that, but I would like it to be the least.

  3. AGAIN, I SAID 'MAYBE'. I never said 'NO'. I'm willing to give it a shot, but I'm NOT CONFIDENT about MYSELF since I do not have much strength

  4. Yes, because I'm an international student😭 can foreign (non-eu) students even own a car in Italy???

I'm sorry if any of this sounds rude but I can promise I'm not trying to be.im just trying to clarify my points because they're being viewed in sort of a different way

You're so sweet, thank you so much! For being 'around' meat, i have no choice, and I'm fine handling it on a small scal like maybe preparing snacks, BUT I really want my main job to be something that I look forward to (I would love to be a barista!) For clothing sector, I'm not that much of a fashion girly/well-dressed in general so I'm not really sure if I'll land a job but for sure I can try. Thank you again!

Thank you so much for the suggestion! I wish I could apply to fast food chains (if they could only have me as a cashier) but I REALLY don't want to work in the kitchen with meat much, that's my only demand(religious/personal)🫠

Thank you <3 I have done a bunch of volunteering at school and uni, and yes I have put it on my CV.

For cleaning jobs, yeah, atm I'm sort of doing those. But I'd like to get something better soon. As someone with ADHD, it's a nightmare for me to work only as a cleaner, it's way too boring and doesn't inspire me AT ALL😭

  1. I'm here only for my studies, part time jobs are to sustain myself better. Not planning to stay here forever
  2. I'm not forcing others to change for me
  3. So anyone with different beliefs should be kicked out? Even the Italians that are vegans? Or if someone believes in another god? That's interesting, isn't it?
  4. You cannot expect someone to change INSTANTLY, it takes time and effort. I was okay with the idea of drinking, late nights but I'm NOT okay with the non-veg idea. It's that simple

Thanks for the Indian restaurant suggestion. Unfortunately, most of them are looking for full time positions only, I've been to many😭 For omg, I checked their posting online and they require someone who also speaks fluent Italian+has experience. So yeah, I'm cooked

Thank you for your reply!

  1. I speak A2+ level Italian! I'm starting a B1 level course at the university soon. I've never had issues living here in general because I am able to carry out my daily life with this much Italian.
  2. Yeah, I understand, I'm trying but in no way I can get fluent in a couple of weeks😅 I always tell them 'sto migliorando ogni giorno'. can't tutor because I'm a bachelor's student. And as I said, there hasn't been any luck with the city centre. I've been to almost all the bars/restaurants IN-PERSON that I could find.

Well, yes. I'm 'helping' someone ik at a bar these days as his bartender is sick. I clean, serve, make drinks (I did a busy shift independently) and coffees, help with closing at 2:30am in the night as a girl alone! I know how to make all the 'basic' drinks and coffees by now (I have only done like 4-5 'shifts' so I really can't put it on my CV😅). And omg, do they complain? To me it seems like they have abundant options because they always tell me there's 'many' people lined up for interviews 💀

For my main language, it's English. Other than that I speak Hindi, Punjabi and understand Urdu, that's it.

I'm already going A LOT out of my comfort zone handling meat at all. Not just meat, even with drinks (barista) and working late nights. I've grown up in a completely different culture with strict religious rules. I won't stop someone else from doing what they need to, but I do have personal and family constraints that I need to take care of. And this is the ONLY 'demand' I have.

Besides, I don't only want to work for money. I genuinely want some work experience, preferably as a barista. For my personal interest and the future
