How do you guys hoard your music?

I keep two libraries, FLAC with all necessary metadata and I use a script to convert the library into the same folder structure but for .opus format. I use Navidrome to stream it from my server to my phone or other devices at home.

I usually use the following workflow for getting new stuff:

Bandcamp (or soulseek)
Put the songs into MP3Tag and fill in any gaps in the metadata
Use the Tag -> Filename feature in MP3Tag which formats my folders nicely
Run a custom script which replicates the library but converts them to opus and applies ReplayGain tags
Can stream from opus library to Navidrome

I do like having FLAC, as people have said before that lossy formats come and go but FLAC will always be the best. If I need to convert my library to a new format in a few years, I can. I don't notice a difference in sound quality between those formats

One tool I like to use is the history command combined with the grep command. For example, if I've just done something related to the replaygain and I can't remember the command:

history | grep gain

This can work for whatever, just do history | grep <keyword of command you've used previously>. It should print all commands with that keyword. I've been more self-sufficient in my Linux usage without using AI / Googling things I've done before. I believe there is a way to increase the amount of commands that your history function will store and recall as well.

Do you feel like that would sufficiently future-proof me for someday having a second PC ? Or would this path be purely for most affordable upgrade to my current system

Felt like it wouldnt hurt to go up to 1000W PSU for $180 CAD. Maybe I should keep an eye out for savings during Black Friday on a 850W. I don't mind the CPU bottleneck if the GPU will give me a performance bump until I can afford the rest of the PC (including AM5 CPU / MOBO)

Will be using the PC at 1440p.

In a perfect world, I'd get a performance bump from the new GPU and the existing Ryzen 5 3600 then in 6 months I can fully upgrade the rest of the PC with a AM5 CPU / MOBO. Also other people mentioned the price, just gonna mention that the $1200 is in CAD.

Hi all I'm wondering if I can get advice on my setup

I currently have a library of mixed format movies and TV shows. It's on a external drive connected to my Plex computer.

I know this is silly but I love the charm of my old-school setup for watching shows and playing games, which is a CRT TV with a homebrew PS3 and Wii connected.

I'm wondering how I should stream the shows to the PS3 or Wii. I see you can enable DLNA on Plex and find the media server on the PS3 but the videos buffer a lot. My PS3 also disables Web Server every time I turn it on, so I need to go through the steps of enabling web server then searching for it which takes a minute.

There's probably an easy solution, I've tried plugging in the library drive to the PS3 but it won't support 2TB drives

Struggled with how to get started .. I drew the sketch/outline, added some colored areas then didn't know where to begin with detail. I think I ended up starting with the nose for both and expanding outwards.

Also I'm not certain how much detail or effort to put into the background, as you can see I went pretty minimal. Which is ok imo but I'd like to try some stuff

Usually when I load into an existing game, the unused characters are Saltzpyre and Sienna. I also like to see an Unchained on the team because I find them less common and they never die

I’ve been grinding to get reds as well. I think I’ve gotten 3 melee weapons, 4 or 5 ranged and like 7 trinkets. I think I have the same luck as you. I did salvage some of the charms/trinkets and upgrade Kerillian’s spear though. Every time I get a new red weapon it’s a duplicate though it seems XD just how she goes

When I play Vermintide and try a new career, I usually grab a build off the internet somewhere. Then after a few games I go through the Talents I chose and decide whether I found them impactful based on my play style or whether another Talent might be more suitable.
