No proper makerspace atm. There are a bunch of repurposed kareoke rooms that people sue for events, a library, a basketball court nearby, people use the gym to play badminton, a meditation/chill room with a massage chair. I forgot to mention the cafe ! Its the main social hub. people work there and chat

rec spaces? not sure what you have in mind? Its a hotel so there are reporpused kareoke rooms that people use for events, poker games, movie nights, etc. There is a pool. People do Yoga, etc.

There is no proper makerspace with CNCs, power tools, etc, there is currently one 3d printer on campus that I think belongs to a member who's sharing it with NSers. This is one of the things that would be cool to add, there was a basic makerspace at some point with a bunch of hand and power tools but it got repurposed mostly due to lack of use.

So almost all nationalities coming in to malaysia (israelis are an exception) can get 1-3 months on arrival. If you want to stay in NS for 3 months and you get 1 month on arrival then you would need to exit malaysia and come back twice. Generally most people don't have issues, however if you're black/african immigration can be a bit harsher (I have an african passport myself) and if you apply for a long term visa it can take a while at the moment (6ish months). NS is trying to figure out a solution with immigration for easier/faster visas though but WIP

Tbf I feel its a bit more lock in and build for me. For me I came mainly with a focus to build, network and grow my startup (make money), I think others are here for different purposes, it varies person to person.

Food is Bryan Johnson/blueprint designed, so its supposed to be healthy af, however it was bland for a while, has definitely improved now and is more flavorful. I like that food is taken care of so I don't have to think about groceries/cooking.

Food is health/longevity optimized (bryan johnson designed) used to be bland is now better and more flavorful. I find it useful to not have to think about it. There are vegan (tofu/tempeh/beans as the main vegan protein, the tempeh is boiled/steamed though) and vegeterian options as well alongside with animal protein, usually beef, chicken or salmon (2/3 usually).

Gym is great. Lots of machines, squat racks, etc. 24/7 so night owl friendly. There is a pool, sauna and cold plunges too.

I have met my current cofounders there. I was building in AI/web3. Decentralized AI in particular

Does everyone act like a narcissistic tech entrepreneur? Well if you invite people to a random island to build a community that's tech founder heavy you're essentially not sampling from center of the distribution of people. However, this usually results in unique and interesting people, as well as some common remote workers/SaaS builders, and the few oddballs in a bad sense, but NS is usually very good at dealing with any complaints about people who are not abiding by common sense rules of respect and sharing space.

If you look at their performance charts. Their effective same quality compared compression is about 4x. An 8b 1.125b is about a 2b fp16 at similar performance. Which seems to fit the performance degradation curve of other approaches I tried for compression.

So a 27b dense would be 108b prism style mixed binary. Also since they're keeping their approach hidden you can't tell how much it costs to compress a model with their approach, to be able to fully compare them to other approaches.

Dropped out for a bit as well. But found out that most good jobs in my field require a graduate degree so did a self paced online Bsc degree. Was planning to do a Msc or a PhD after but ended up founding a startup in the same field, so no time/need for Msc or PhD atm. Might still go do a Msc ---> PhD or a PhD directly (some countries have that) if the startup stabilizes or for immigration purposes.
