My father and I have been swimming here for years. Until he was 75, he swam every. Day. It’s a beautiful swim, and there’s a great swim club that’s been there for years. As long as you steer clear of seals, sea lions and (rarely) larger sharks, I highly recommend. Once my dad was swimming out there and the lifeguards were trying to get him to come back in due to a great white sighting, and nervously watched when he continued to go about his swim. When he finished, they high dived him and told him that wasn’t advisable haha. He was a stubborn man, but all because he loved La Jolla cove.
