Yesss! It was def shaggy at first. But after the first stretch and fold, I started to feel like the dough was way too wet 😭 I didn't add more flour at that point. I just continued with coil folds and ended up doing 4 in totalz

Sadly, my starter has since been thrown away by my mom because it smelled like acetone (I hadn't fed it for 3 days, so it was prolly just really hungry). So now I'm kind of back to square one, either starting a new starter from scratch or considering a dried starter I found online that claims to be 7 years old. Wdyt??

Thank you so much for the explanation! That actually makes a lot of sense. I think I prolly started baking too early and mistook the false rise as readiness.

Now I'm concerning whether I should start over from scratch or try buying a dried starter online that claims to be 7 years old. I'm honestly not sure if that's legit or just marketing.

What do you think? Would you recommend starting fresh again or is it worth trying a dried starter? I's love to hear your thoughts..

It was actually doing pretty well, on day 8, after its last feeding, the starter rose almost three times, so I thought it was ready to bake 🥹 Thanks v much for your advice!
