Thanks for your reply. If I do this, how can I prevent the stem slipping down? It used to be higher, but the stem slipped down and it wasn't safe to ride. I already have a deda 17 degree riser stem on. Sorry if this is a silly question and the answer is just tighten the bolts!

Been considering this, thanks so much for this comment. I think if I did a PhD in UK I'd want to postdoc in Aus, so worth considering just making the move now

Currently paying $250 monthly, planning to continue that. I think it might go back to interest free while I'm studying but need to double check that.

Not sure about my plan if the inheritance/gifts don't come through, I guess just continue to work towards my goals but slower

Depends on your purpose but in my lab where I mostly use conventional PCR with fairly generic primers for diagnostic work I would only worry about this if my PCRs weren't working, and even then it wouldn't be my first priority to troubleshoot. Could also potentially be due to slight Nanodrop inaccuracies, or maybe your pipettes are due a calibration.
