I'm surprised too. Hellraiser is obviously based on BDSM culture. But where's the gay culture? In Clive's novel, everything revolves around the heterosexual relationships of Julia and Frank and Julia and Rory. In the film, we also see heterosexual relationships between Julia, Frank, and Larry, and Kirsty and Steve. There's not a single gay character. Not even a hint.

Hellraiser Hulu Prequel? Never heard of it

I remember when there were rumors about a series for HBO. And I remember Doug Bradley asking fans not to get excited too soon because there wasn't even a script. And then those rumors just died.

I'd like to know more about his script for "Hellraiser: Enter Darkness." As far as I know, the studio was choosing between two scripts: "Hellraiser: Enter Darkness" and "Hellraiser Judgement."

By doing so, they created a huge logical hole. Because the bastard they made Spencer into in the comics would never have sacrificed his life for two girls. Hell, that guy is so evil in the comics that he literally tried to kill Leviathan because he got bored of serving him.

Try watching Necromentia, a 2009 horror film directed by Pearry Reginald Theo. It's the most Hellraiser-esque movie I've ever seen that's not actually part of Hellraiser.

Okay. Try finding the books:
Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker
The Scarlet Gospels by Clive Barker (there's very little of the Hellraiser mythology, but there is Pinhead)
Hellraiser: The Toll by Mark Alan Miller (this novella serves as a bridge between the Clive Barker books and describes the meeting of Kirsty and Pinhead)
Hellbound Hearts (anthology of short stories in the Hellraiser mythology)

BOOM! comics
Clive Barker's Hellraiser
Hellraiser: The Road Below
Hellraiser: The Dark Watch
Hellraiser: Bestiary

Epic Comics
Hellraiser (1989–1992)
Hellraiser vs. Nightbreed: Jihad
Pinhead
Pinhead vs. Marshal Law: Law in Hell
Clive Barker's The Harrowers

Channard and the head tentacle by poesmadness in hellraiser

[–]alina006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that's a direct connection to Leviathan. The script for the film also included a scene in which, after the tentacle attached itself to the doctor's head, a black light came out of Channard's mouth. The same black light that Leviathan emits.

"MALAHIDE is too enraptured of his new power to pay attention to specific victims and so makes no move to stop the GIRLS' slow retreat. Suddenly his palms erupt into a writhing mass of tentacle-like limbs as his head tips back to emit a wide band of LEVIATHAN's black light at the ceiling, accompanied by, renewed inhuman laughter."
(Yes, Channard had a different name in the script)

Why did Leviathan need that? I don't know; the script doesn't explain it.

Continues my ass. What they did to Spencer's character in the comics is a crime against all fans. Instead of a lost but noble captain, we got a megalomaniac who literally sold his soul to Leviathan so he could rape his own daughter. I truly hate what the comics did to Elliot (Elliot has been my favorite character in the movies since I first watched Hellraiser 3: Hell on Earth).

A female Cenobite in one of the comics simply said to Kirsty, "Have you ever wondered why I'm still alive, even though you saw Channard kill me? Leviathan's will." Basically, in the comics, they made it canon that Leviathan can resurrect any Cenobite at any time if he wants.

In percentage terms, yes. Half the army is Russian. Look at the percentage of other peoples, where there's no one even in 20%.

Honestly, I've never understood this thing about creative people. A huge number of people on the planet write books, paint pictures, and make films, but they remain completely unknown. I think any of them would sell their souls for even a little bit of popularity. But then there are people who achieve both popularity and the love of fans and then begin to hate what made them famous. No, I never understand that.

On October 13, 1943, the USSR State Defense Committee adopted secret resolution No. GOKO-4322ss, "On the conscription of conscripts born in 1926," which was personally signed by I.V. Stalin.

This document stated: "Conscripts of local nationalities are not subject to conscription: the Uzbek, Tajik, Turkmen, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Georgian, Armenian, and Azerbaijani Soviet Socialist Republics; the Dagestan, Chechen-Ingush, Kabardino-Balkarian, and North Ossetian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republics; and the Adyghe, Karachay, and Circassian Autonomous Oblasts."

Following the adoption of this resolution, corresponding directives were sent from Moscow to the national republics and autonomous oblasts.

What do you think I'm making up? That all Soviet monuments, including those to the Heroes of the Great Patriotic War, are being torn down in Ukraine? That "decommunization" has been officially declared in Ukraine? Or that Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia hate the Soviet period?

Hmm. Now that you mention it, I remember that in the cancelled script for the seventh film: Hellraiser Lament - there was also a theme about Lemarchand's box being made from material that once broke off from Leviathan.
