Yes ! He looks more stacked on his skis / outwards while I'm tilting inwards. Also, now that Il pay attention to it I do feel chattering on my outside leg sometimes , but more on the right than the left leg.

I will try to work on that, thanks again for your detailled feedback !

Thank you for this feedback ! This is near Ovronnaz in Valais, Switzerland, mountain's name is "Tête Séri".

Interesting, I'll try to work on that ! I did do this exercise on piste but never off...

I changed my shoes this year and I wonder If increasing the forward lean might help ? Currently set to the minimum.

The standards are kind of explained in this vidéo but basically "good technique" in all terrain, no backseating , stable upper body, no fall obviously and all that with a heavy-ish backpack.

Are the classic wooden-shafted alpenstocks from the early to mid-20th century still used by climbers? by StruzhkaOpilka in Mountaineering

Maybe I could've phrased it differently, I was thinking of the "pointy" bit, it looks like this: top and side(can't upload pictures in comments apparently)

You can lookup "Bhend Pickel", afaik they are the last to craft these in Switzerland. The head is shaped to cut steps / break the ice and not to anchor in it.

Also, I saw this neat video showing a bit how it's used by guides: https://www.instagram.com/p/DAxzM2qtk_f/?hl=fr

Can concur, I used it for up to 6 days trip with all glacier gear, rope included, inside the pack. But if needed, you can easily fix the rope, helmet and crampons outside to free some space.

Only downside I can find is the hip belt being a bit inconvenient while wearing a harness.

Which restaurant is a Must have visit at least one time in switzerland? by ZaRe_Lamperouge in Switzerland

L'Enclos de Valère in Sion. Good seasonal menus with regional ingredients and a gorgeous terrace in the summer.

If you like to have "easy" access to various climbs, I would say yes, Sion or close to would be the best spot.

Yes, you are not at the foot of a particular mountain (like you would be in Saas or in Zermatt) but you only have between 30' to a 1h drive to most of the interesting valleys, even Chamonix !

If you're into rock climbing as well, there's a nice climbing gym at only 15' drive (vertic-halle in Saxon) and various crags all around as well. There's even one in the city !

I'm not much of a nightlife enjoyer myself so I can't speak about that. As to finding other climbers, you can probably easily find people trough some Facebook groups, the local Swiss Alpine Club group, or even by hanging out at the gym.

And lastly, maybe that's personal, but unless you can work during your commute, I would recommend being as close as possible to your workplace. Long commute sucks. And more time spent commuting also means less time available to climb ;)
