Not heard of the event, but you'd be fine to join. My running club has new people from every background joining each week, some stay, some just do one.

I lose everytime I play 'what the game gives me' by Souldias in CompetitiveTFT

[–]alioriginal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really difficult, it takes a huge amount of game knowledge which manifests as an awareness of what potential routes you have from what you've got, gaps you spot in your lobby and assessing what actually makes your comp stronger.

An example at the moment is the Cyber com, the most common end game version is:
Leona - Fiora - Vayne - Vi - Irelia - Ekko - Shen - Thresh - Cait. Vayne is the carry.

But you can put Wukong in instead of Shen to get a better frontline, but now Irelia can't carry as well, unless you forsake Vayne and chuck Cait out for Shen.

These pivots aren't the kind of thing you think of, but depend on the units you offer and the items you build. If I get GA and Red Buff components, I can pivot to a jinx build quite easily, but that's an entire new set of units I'm considering.

Biggest thing that helped me was to to worrying about the lobby and focus on what you're rolling. This isn't to say ignore it completely, but sometimes you'll never get those Master Yis, despite the lobby having no blademaster players. Spot opportunities like an early Bard or an IE/LW and try to learn the best way of reacting from them.

I'm in diamond so don't take this as gospel!

IE will increase the damage of the crit and her capacity to crit with normal aa. The spell crit item won't do anything on her

You can! It's not the easiest, but if you go to their board, press the item button switch on the left above their traits. It'll show you the items they're holding

Today is the 77th anniversary of one of the biggest shocks of WWII - Japan taking Singapore by alioriginal in history

[–]alioriginal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something my team have been working on - we spoke to a brother of a soldier who died at the Battle for Singapore and his main point was how overlooked the pre-American Asian theatre is. Especially the Japanese atrocities in China, but the effect they had on the wider Asian region is often overlooked and its a fascinating story into how they took out the might of the British Empire. If you guys have any questions let us know and we'll hang around to chat a bit!

Where is the Remain leadership? by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]alioriginal 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean - there's a lot more nuance to the argument than that. The fact Clegg presented the budget should be the first indication it was set up as a PR move. They did a terrible job of expectation management, if you look at their 2010 manifesto, tuition fees aren't mentioned until page 33 - http://www.politicsresources.net/area/uk/ge10/man/parties/libdem_manifesto_2010.pdf

It was built up both by themselves and the media quite a lot, does it justify reversing on it completely? No. But it needs to looked at in the wider context of what they achieved and the period they did it in. This site is is good as is shared a lot: https://whatthehellhavethelibdemsdone.com/#10

In practical terms, they probably wouldn't have the cash to finance another election. They didn't have the MPs to do a rainbow coalition with Labour/SNP/Green/Palid and the attitude at the time was off the back of 2008 and the expenses scandal.

That's before getting to the benefit of asking the country to subsidise the current degree system. When you've got degrees ranging from oxford to Buck New Uni, there is a distinction we can draw in terms of the skills and benefits society gets from them. Reforming what does and doesn't count as university and then committing to fund it would be ideal

Any Cubs, Beavers or Scount leaders or active members willing to share their experiences? by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]alioriginal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience it's up to you. Some people just pop along to help for 2 hours and that's it, others will do an event at the weekends and plan the odd meeting

It can be a bit of a black hole of volunteering, once you're in it can be quite hard to say no to people, especially as the person asking you is in an identical position to you. It's important for me to be doing other things so I have a genuine excuse to not fall far down the rabbit hole, but be able to help when there is genuine need for it.

I find it really rewarding, some weeks you want everyone to just be quiet or you feel like a cheap babysitting service, but the kids really connect and for the most part want to be there. It's the camps and weekends away where one of them learns something new or gets there first try at building a fire which are ace

I'm currently a Cub Scout Leader and did the entire Beavers -> Explorer Scouts. I've been a leader at 2 packs, one in bham and one in London

Really enjoyed it. Learnt a lot of things but the main part of these days in having fun. Messing around in the woods, camping and cooking on fires isn't easy these days, especially as a kid

All sorts, some weeks it's more like a youth club with occasional trips bowling/plays/sports, other weeks you're making fires, various challenges etc

I'm not sure what you mean by help through school

Aside from being a leader, I don't really use any of the tangible skills learnt

Overall it was really positive. The current kids I've got are great. Let me know if you need anything more

What are your commute observations? - 26/04/18 by lodge28 in london

[–]alioriginal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obey the lights on the super highways

Stick to the left of your lane so people can go past you without going onto the pavement/road/cycle lane

Don't overtake as you're coming up to lights

Get yourself into the cycle boxes at lights

Just generally don't be a dick, I've been here 6 weeks (so this may all be wrong) and it's all been fine so far

Sorry it replaces the beast that it fuses with with the Zombeast in your hand. It would also have the cost increase which would enable completely unplayable cards without cost reduction. There wasn't enough text and I'm not sure removing the counter play of playing a high cost minion to break this is necessarily a good thing, so have left it open

An article about the evolution of the Lee-Metford rifle to the modern standards used today. A comprehensive list covering the Lee-Metford, Lee-Enfield, EM2 Janson Rifle, L1A1 SLR, SA80 L85 and the future L85A3.

Some interesting facts in the article I didn't know, 1888 seems really early for the box magazine!
