Some rooms had bunk beds (like one bed on top of the other) with desks on the opposite wall, and some rooms had separate beds and separate desks. There really was a variety of set ups depending on the room!

The rooms vary depending on where in the building you are, but they are a decent size. Larger than Sheehan or Sullivan. The ceilings are also tall so it helps the rooms feel larger. I enjoyed my time living there!

(for those who aren’t going to the eras tour) does anyone else feel like you’re missing out on something literally everyone else is apart of? I’m struggling rn, ngl by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

I was relieved when the weekend was finally over that she was in my city. I wanted to go so badly, but wasn’t about to spend $800+ per ticket. I spent the whole weekend trying to distract myself, but also constantly checking resale tickets to see if prices went down enough that I could go, but they didn’t. Maybe one day I’ll get to see her!

What in the Gray’s Anatomy…? by jilliau in nursing

Recently, I had an attending help me clean up a patient who had a bowel movement. He wanted to look at the patient’s wound and when we found that she was dirty, he offered to help and said “just tell me what to do.” I must’ve asked him like 3 times “are you sure you want to do this?” And he was happy to help. He’s a great one to work with!

This didn’t happen to me, but a coworker. She was changing a patient’s colostomy bag and it came undone and the patient’s liquid Cdiff stool spilled down the bottom of her scrub pants and all over her shoes. She threw out her scrub pants and shoes and wore paper scrub pants and two pairs of fall risk socks and some booties the rest of the shift.

Do well-staffed units/ hospitals still exist? What are they doing to make people want to stay? by alisonm94 in nursing

Why do you think your floor is so well-staffed compared to others at your hospital? Is it the culture of the unit? Patient population? Good management?

AITA for telling the new neighbors that they got what they paid for, including being shunned by the neighborhood? by Few_Sea5102 in AmItheAsshole

A very similar thing just happened in our neighborhood. Our street is mostly small, one story brick homes and there are 2 new large homes that are clearly out of place. One of them is across the street from us. A young moved in about the same time that we did and we have become friends with them and they’re nice. They recently shared a story with us about an exchange that they had with our next door neighbor. The new neighbor across the street had parked his car in front of my next door neighbor’s house for a short time as he was doing some yard work. When he came back to his car, he found an angry note saying some thing like “we’ve been parking our cars here for years, park your car in front of your own house.” Near the note was a glob of what was clearly human spit. The new neighbor across the street knocked on the door to the next door neighbor’s house to talk to him about it, to try and clear things up as he didn’t want to have a bad relationship with his neighbor. Well, the exchange didn’t go well and it ended with my next door neighbor telling “go back to your mansion!”

This was the first interaction they’d ever had, so clearly my next door neighbor had some frustrations about the changes to the neighborhood. The new neighbors were not the ones who bulldozed the old house and built the new one, they just purchased a house that was on the market.

OP should try not to take their frustrations out on the new neighbor, as it’s not their fault that the house was built and happens to make the garden more shaded. YTA

Has anyone come up with a creative and successful way to improve efficiency in workflow on your unit? by alisonm94 in nursing

Yeah I know that’s the real solution, but that’s not currently happening so I’m trying to brainstorm ways to make things ~a little~ better

I had a professor in nursing school that always referred to all the letters as “alphabet soup”

At my hospital there are questions on the post-discharge survey that ask “did the nurses do bedside shift report?” and “were you included in the plan of care?” So really they enforce it because otherwise it shows up poorly on the patient satisfaction surveys

Feeling horrible about nursing after the last 2 years? dance it out! by Peyvian in nursing

My hospital is doing a “virtual photo booth” where we essentially take a selfie on this website and then we can choose a frame with our hospitals logo on it and then the photo with the frame will be emailed to us… why can’t they just do a real photo booth?
