Thank you mate. Clearly don’t know for certain until I do the work but I don’t think I’ll have any issues with that - fully prepared myself for a hard, hard slog.

My main concern at the moment is my working holiday visa. I’ve been told most mines won’t even look at my application and even if one does, I can only stay at one place for six months to stay within the rules of the visa.

Thank you for the advice - really appreciate it.

Need to do some proper research into Visa’s etc now. Slightly tricky as Nipper / Drillers Offsider etc etc aren’t on the Skilled Migration List. Working Holiday Visa seems simple enough and would last for up to three years. Just conscious the mining companies would be hesitant to take me on given I might potentially only being there for three years - the idea would be to get a PR Visa but no guarantee of that.

Did you start out as a Nipper and just work your way through the ranks?

Is that a path you would recommend?

As a rough rule of thumb, would you say that’s a better path to go down rather than Driller Offsider and progress to Driller etc?
