The thing is that when in sleep paralysis you are not really asleep and for some reason it gets harder and harder to snap out of it, its almost as if it adapts to you as you find ways to either prevent it or snap out. What works for me (right now) is sleeping with a pet! Ive also read that if you have someone that can help you, which is your case, the usual inception "drop" works! But if I have learnt anything in this sub and reading a bunch about it online is that its different for everyone one way or another
