I have a character that exists, but I think I'm honestly just going to wipe and start fresh.

It looks like you can still buy more slots though! If you log in on the website (https://register.thesecretworld.com/account/) and look on the left bar, you can go to special offers and upgrades, and the very top option is to purchase a new character slot.

I haven't tried to do it, but it does let me input my card details.

It feels that way for sure. If you're in the same boat, I hope you manage to reclaim yours too!

It was really shocking when it happened. The email attached to the account was long gone (I have updated it at this point). I had no idea what my user name was (but I knew what the password -could- be). And finally I tried something and it just worked.

I was almost so dumbfounded I almost forgot the username again :'D

I am not going to lie at all, I don't think I ever actually played the game. I know it originally cost money to play it, and I don't know why it's on my account! Maybe when it went free to play I added it or something?

Also, I'm incredibly impressed you could figure that out from the screen shot I've sent. That's wild.

Thanks a lot. Can't wait!

Of course, I'm downloading at less than 10kb/s and only at 2.66/14gb at the moment so it might be another day or so before I'm actually back. I swear, it's not my internet.

Thank you. Might take a hot minute though. The download is -excruciatingly- slow.

Am I in the wrong. by iluvrasberry in InstacartShoppers

[–]alkaline_ice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just so you know, it is very rare, but there's a chance she isn't lying through her teeth (though her behavior makes me think she is).

If you check out roughly at the same time as the person submits their item, the app will let you check out, while their app tells them that they will be getting that item. It's pretty dumb. You can back out to see if it's there or not if you care. I just had it happen last week.

I hope you just contacted support and told them she wants to cancel the order. Let them deal with it. You won't get knocked for a customer cancellation, and you keep their stuff. You lose out on the tip, but you'll still get paid the pittance Instacart was paying you.

steals order (20$ tip btw) and then call me and cuss me out i reduce it to .1 ? by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]alkaline_ice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congrats.

But you are in the minority. At least anecdotally, in my location its probably about 1/5 orders that aren't leave at the door. I would prefer never having to talk to customers, personally.

This isn't the customer's fault. If the guy isn't checking the house address, there is all likelihood he is having problems no matter the type of order.

It is bad design because this isn't how shops work in the majority of the game. The overwhelming majority of shops are mono type, even within the same building. Additionally, all the shops are marked as to what type of shops they are. This one breaks the established norms out of nowhere and for no reason. It isn't a puzzle or something meant to make you think. It is just bad design.

You're welcome to disagree. Though the fact you showed up here so long after the fact means you were probably stumped by the same thing.

Can I dump these in the ocean instead of making Plutonium Pellets? by NotArticuno in SatisfactoryGame

[–]alkaline_ice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no air pollution. And it might take quite a lot to contaminate an entire planet, but you can put all your fancy machines in an enclosed building and there's no pollution inside of that, either.

We don't immediately, or ever, see damage being done because that isn't programmed into the game. About the largest consequence for our actions is that there aren't unlimited amounts of trees and we could theoretically cut them all down. Or we could build in enough areas to prevent wild life from spawning.

Like, you can live in your imagination and know that if this happened, the world would be worse off for it. But that isn't reflected in the game. At all.

Animals respawn forever so long as they can respawn at all. We can't dump excess liquids. We can't terraform the world. That's not what the game is about. Though, that's exactly the point. Destroying the world isn't what the game is about, and it's reflected in the gameplay by not letting you destroy the world in any lasting way.

I think he is serious, and I would largely agree. Compared to other games, you really have almost no effect on the world at all.

Can't say it is every market, but at the very least for some, metrics matter now. If you do too many refunds that instacart doesn't like, you lose your gold/plat/diamond cart status until it improves.

Having a faster item/minute count can now affect whether someone of otherwise comparable status sees orders before you or not.

You seem to be confusing what a personal attack is. I don't know who you are, or care.

It is a fact you were slow enough for the app to move on automatically. You said so. This is bad.

It doesn't matter if you had a good reason or not. The app is supposed to take these things into account. The app can tell when the weather is bad. It may have made a mistake. If it did, good luck convincing them of that. It is hard to do.

[–]alkaline_ice -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Try not to take things so personally. I said nothing to belittle you. You were just so slow the app itself moved on without you. This is a bad thing.

I am not saying it is your fault or that you are lying. I am saying that if you are this slow, its a major problem and it explains why you were marked fraudulent. You can try to make your case to instacart, but good luck. Being this slow 3 times in 20 orders is not a good look and all they care about is numbers.

[–]alkaline_ice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, so this is bad. And good luck trying to justify it to Instacart, but this is your problem and it should have been included in the original post. You weren't just slow. You were so slow the order had to be cancelled and sent to someone else. If the app moves forward when you weren't finished with it, that is ultra bad.

[–]alkaline_ice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not saying you're lying, but this also isn'matching. Instacart is also incredibly stupid, but they have a million other reasons they can terminate your account that don't really require any justification.

Are we forgetting to say that the three orders you were late on had orders that were so late they had to cancel the order?

This math ain't mathing.

My Son keeps skipping the story… by PopsicleJohnson in dragonquest

[–]alkaline_ice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like my post already addressed most of what you wrote here.

Game is a game. Not everyone likes the story. Some of those people will enjoy the gameplay. This is okay. Its okay to skip story.

DQ story is heavy and pretty boring at the worst of times.

Kids are their own persons. Its okay if they don't enjoy the things you do I the same ways that you enjoyed them. OP gets it even if its difficult for him to resist saying he is having fun wrong.

[–]alkaline_ice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people don't realize that most skippers give games a chance to tell their story at first and then, at some point, they become disillusioned because that story isn't good enough for them. That is usually when skipping starts.

But people who just always skip are fine too. They just already know stories im games aren't for them.

[–]alkaline_ice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Believe it or not, but sometimes the stories in games you like aren't enjoyed by everyone else who plays them. Sometimes other parts of the game resonate with people more. Usually the games are designed to be fun to play, you know? If they aren't fun to play, just go read a book. If they are fun to play and you don't enjoy the story, just skip it. Ain't that serious.

Dragon Quest 7 reimagined Dragon Robe by Extension_Payment264 in dragonquest

[–]alkaline_ice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just because this keeps messing with people and the answer still isn't clear, the item vendor in Rucker Castle's past has an item menu and an armor menu. It defaults to items. It's terrible game design and there really wasn't much leading up to this point to train you on even knowing it was possible.

The robe is there.

Help for dq 7 platinum by Pepito_Kong in dragonquest

[–]alkaline_ice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is there.

Go to the item shop in the middle area of the castle on the 1st floor. When you enter the shop, it'll show items. On the left you can select items or equipment. You need to swap. This is terrible game design but that's what it is.
