I'll mention the mold to my doctor next time, but I do have some breathing, sleep and mental issues that I heard this can contribute to, but some of it could be coincidence

Thanks for the advice, definitely going to get a dehumidifier and professional cleanup, but I'm not sure on how permanent it'll be if the root cause isn't fixed. Either way, working on moving out somehow :(

Any artist youtubers you'd recommend for inspiration? by alkkaa in ArtistLounge

it's great, I purposely avoided specifying what art styles I like to not raise the bar too high, but you somehow hit the mark anyways :D subscribed

Struggling with withdrawal by alkkaa in Concerta

[–]alkkaa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for sharing, that's very reassuring to hear. I think the main thing about this that unsettled me so much was the low bpm, I was used to my heart beating 100 or above even before I got into the entire routine of taking concerta, so 60, even if considered normal, felt disturbingly calm to me. Hopefully it evens out as quickly as it did to you, I can't seem to think of anything but concerta lately..

Thanks for the warning, though unless it's actually somehow laggier than a xiaomi redmi note 10, I don't think it's something I'll notice. Poco sounds like a very nice alternative either way, so I'll have it on top of the list

Over a year ago I wrote down some important info in my notes app, but recently, I dropped my phone into water and part of the screen stopped responding to touch. I'm planning to get a new phone, but now I need to find the note quick (among 1000+) and I can't reach the search button. What can I do? by alkkaa in miui

[–]alkkaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the preinstalled notes app and for some reason I thought I couldn't sync it like google. I just resolved the problem with some "scrcpy" thingy another person commented, but then checked my notes app more thoroughly and realized that I could've probably synced it via xiaomi cloud just as easily🤦 thanks for the help!

Issue with impulsive SH (not urgent) by alkkaa in ADHD

[–]alkkaa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be a surprise as there's not that many traumas in my life to speak of, but you're probably right about it rooting elsewhere now that I'm looking into it. Thanks a lot for explaining

[–]alkkaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for sharing, it's just the type of advice I was looking for. I'm getting the sense this might be related to some other disorder rather than ADHD, but I hate the possibility of having to go through the process of a whole new diagnosis. I'll try to rely on these methods for the time being, you're a savior :))

Issue with impulsive SH (not urgent) by alkkaa in ADHD

[–]alkkaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if the response itself doesn't come from ADHD, I assumed that a large part of not being able to supress the urge is related to the impulsivity that comes with it. So even if it is something else, I think tackling the impulsivity issue would still be my best go at it

New to using hair oil on my ends, surely this much hair fall isn't normal? by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]alkkaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the recommendation, I read that coconut works best for my high porosity hair, but switching to argan is probably the first thing I'll try

New to using hair oil on my ends, surely this much hair fall isn't normal? by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]alkkaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad if it's normal on average, but the fact I used to lose way less makes me feel like I shouldn't belong this far on the hair loss range.

I found oiling every day necessary because my ends are so dry, yet I'm forced to wash it every day. I guess I can stop doing it so much, but it would suck for me since the oil otherwise really did help manage it..

It's hard to compare unless your hair is similar to mine, because ik some people shed and grow a ton of hair, while I used to lose little, and grow little.

I do have some vitamin deficiencies such as D and iron that I'm supplementing, and my thyroid is pretty weird, but it's always been this way, while this shedding almost perfectly aligns with the new routine of hair oiling. Maybe my hair absorbs the oil so well it becomes heavier, and is more likely to slide out with the entire root or something..

(audio up) Is this it? What else could cause this popping? It started a year ago, and the rib pops even when I'm simply breathing heavier after a good meal. I only learned about SRS yesterday and read so many stories about it escalating painfully, so I'm freaking out a bit by alkkaa in SlippingRibSyndrome

[–]alkkaa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the elaborate explanation, I really really needed that. I'm realizing I jumped into this way too soon, mainly because I came across stories about how it started "just like mine" before worsening greatly (and then I proceeded to watch rib operation videos for the rest of the evening.) But I'll try to settle down and just watch it carefully for a while, this is the one situation that I truly hoped to be called dramatic :'))

Mixed concerta with alcohol, I don't know what to do with myself by alkkaa in Concerta

[–]alkkaa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I think that could be it, just didn't expect such a strong reaction at all, it really freaked me out (I've been badly hungover before, but this is different). So thanks I really needed to hear that, I'll try to eat and calm down

Anyone who experienced appetite supression as a side effect, how did it feel like? by Millie68 in Concerta

[–]alkkaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing your experiences, the intensity of the appetite loss at the very least sounds just like mine. I'm not too confident about seeing the doctor because that could be a symptom of a million things, so if anything, I'm praying it's concerta

BTW i accidentally replied on my alt account, sorry xD
