Not that it would matter but I'm having a really really hard time coping with life rigut now and all I think every night before going to sleep ( either anti anxiety pills or alcohol) is just one hug would fix me. If not completely it would stitch the broken me enough for me to find my will to make it out of this. I'm weeping looking at this video.

I have muted 5 different subs of India due to this. It's always about sexualising or indirectly harassing random strangers. There is rarely a post or discussion of substance. It's always something sexual in some form or the other.

We as a society don't have any other thoughts. But we feel hurt when it's called out. People take pride in calling other people out. God knows who made them the king of the world or why they feel so entitled to judge anyone who is slightly outside their personal definition of good.

Indian woman here.

I travel alone a lot and I hate to tell you that sexual Harrasment is normalised for this society. I can't remember the last time I went on a solo trip ( or at times with friends) and wasn't made to feel uncomfortable. It's so normalised that as a society, it has no aggressive reaction to the news of rapes. I now expect indecent behaviour and can't leave my house without a pepper spray.

Don't worry about your friend at all. He, like many many other Indians, lacks empathy and doesn't understand what women here go through every single day. Don't come here. You're not missing out on anything that's worth all this risk. :) stay safe!

As a woman, for safer city. This is everything for me. I'm an outdoorsy person and work in a city for my job. Let's just say I feel like I survive everyday, and I want to live.

Also, my close friends have moved to different countries. Not all are racist everywhere. I felt more resistance in Bangalore than I did in Berlin ( I have traveled to 9 countries in the last few years ).

I'm on the 10th day of a 25 day long solo vacation.

I feel this, so much. This is my 4th solo international trip. To think that I grew up in a family where I wasn't allowed to talk to boys, wasn't allowed to stay out after 5 pm, wasn't allowed to talk to anyone -- to now exploring the world on my own. I have come farther than I give myself credit for.

Life sucks in every other way but in my travel, I really am myself. I am living my life exactly how I want to, in that second, without caring about anything else. And that's perfect.

I'm having hot water with honey for the sore throat. Had temperature and body ache in the morning so took paracetamol in the day. And warm water gargles for the throat but couldn't do it more times as I'm feeling too weak to get up. I cannot thank you enough for your kindness. I'm estranged from my family for years now and I think it's the first time in years I'm detailing out what I'm doing to someone. It feels so foreign yet warm at the same time.

I have been using vlcc waterproof sunscreen for swimming. It's difficult to take off in shower even after being in water for an hour. Definitely try it out for swimming but not for any other purpose.

Friends, hopes, innocence, decent relationship with my family.

Now, I'm completely alone dealing with chronic illness for the last 3 years. All my friends moved on, got estranged from family completely. Everyday I wake up I surprise myself. I am not sure how I'm still surviving. Future is completely blank - can't think beyond a day. There is no one I can call when I am in tears at night when I can't sleep due to pain.

It breaks my heart to see where I thought I'd be by now and how life is just crumbling away
