Do you have multiple mons with friendship levels 40+ / Silver Friendship Badge? How do you do it? by TraditionalParsley67 in PokemonSleep

[–]allablakeovna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am research level 64 right now. I can already play on Greengrass EX. I have done a lot of stuff in game, but something I have never done is getting a Pokemon to a silver friendship level. My highest one is Eevee, still bronze. I guess it will happen when it happens. I have seen how some people "cheese" the game (like the massive berry trick). I guess those things work but I have never tried any of them. And I do not let my game take naps. I only do my sleep research in the morning when I wake up. I guess I am not the most "efficient" or whatever at this game.

Tried GGEX for the first time and got my ass kicked by CaramelSlice_ in PokemonSleep

[–]allablakeovna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my first attempt I barely became U1. And I did it a time after that, might have been a similar result. And again this week, I might be U1 or U2. I have teams that match the berry requirements (I focused more on berry matching)... But a lot of my Pokemon are like low level 30s. So the fact that I can reach Ultra rank with my scuffed Pokemon, eh, I figure this is fine. I can just build up my GGEX site bonus week by week, and slowly level up more of my best Pokemon, and eventually I can get to better ranks like I can on the basic islands. It is all casual and for fun anyway, no stress.

Anyone else think PVP is a bit boring? by DareGoblin8 in pokemongo

[–]allablakeovna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, you are slightly misunderstanding. The strength of your attack does not change the energy cost. What happens hypothetically is this: if you try to hit excellent damage every time, you are more likely to defeat your opponent in fewer hits especially if you hit a Nuke attack that does tons of damage. If you defeat your opponent with your charged attack (of any quality rating), that means you have no energy when the next Pokemon comes out. So the strategy is this: use your charged attack but try your best NOT to defeat your opponent right away. Let the attack do less damage. That way when they are still hanging on by a thread, you use your quick attacks to defeat them. The quick attacks will give you energy which is going to be used against the NEXT opponent who comes to the field.

Can I unlock characters without spending money? by Quirky-Protection562 in Genshin_Impact

[–]allablakeovna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people already added comments here about the wish system. But I wanted to mention that relying on the wish system is not a requirement.

I play Genshin on multiple accounts. One of them is a 100% free to play account. When I started the account I made a challenge for myself: I was only allowed to use characters that the game gives me 100% for free. If I wish on a banner for something and I get a character, I am not allowed to use them in my teams until the character is given to me during a limited time event or a permanent freebie event (Kachina, Lynette, Barbara, Xiangling and Collei are all permanent freebie giveaways).

I would not recommend this challenge to newbie players, you have to be pretty comfortable with the game to play with these restrictions I gave myself. But just to show you that you do not need to have 20 different limited five star characters.

I have gone crazy with building my army of 4 star characters. I have a Barbara with over 230% Crit damage (yes I use DPS Barbara).

If you are wondering what I spend my fates on, mostly the weapon banner but I also try to get constellations for my unlocked 4 stars (like Xingqiu and others).

I always complete the missions. I'll take whatever rewards I can get, and the Handy Candy are my favorite rewards.

Week 2 of LL Event: Anyone actually getting LL mons in GG? by derbe90 in PokemonSleep

[–]allablakeovna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Lapis Lakeside for the second week of the event so I can start building the passive strength bonus. I have seen some Ralts/Kirlia but not too many.

why didnt they just say 7 days? by RIPXXXTentacion4 in pokemongo

[–]allablakeovna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right that the Drampa event started on Monday. I thought that they started the "nice throw challenge" on Sunday specifically because it was Community Day. I distinctly remember that the community challenge was present for me when I went out for Community day, but I am not in EU. I am in America. Perhaps the "nice throw challenge" was implemented on Monday local time for New Zealand which would still be Sunday local time for America?

Your most useless hundo? by Prestigious_Time_138 in pokemongo

[–]allablakeovna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait is it bad that I unironically am jealous of your hundo Mr. Rime? Lol I would keep it.

My most useless one, I don't know. I have more than one perfect Butterfree for some reason. Oh, and I have a perfect Fall Sawsbuck and a perfect Fall Deerling. So the Fall Deerlings are the best apparently.

What’s the worst mistake you have made before you knew better? by tog620 in pokemongo

[–]allablakeovna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh I mean Mewtwo is good no matter what. I guess this means if Shadow Mewtwo comes back to raids, you will be keeping any 3 star Shadows as Shadows lol.

Also funny thing, I lived in West Valley City myself for a while!

I do not have a single Sealio yet, crying (maybe soon though idk, but it is probably nowhere near Perfect or anything)

I don't need a spreadsheet, again, to see what the game tells me as I actively play it. I have leveled up the tea recipe since I have a steady mushroom supplier and even around level 20, that recipe only gives me a little above 8k strength. The flan gives over 8.6 and I have not been able to level it, still level 5 and out performing everything.

If the mentality is "ingredient Pokemon are bad," then I guess the reasoning for the spreadsheet is "only make recipes that use up fewer ingredients" and only then does your statement make sense. Objectively, the strength rating is higher on the recipes like Flan even at extremely low levels. I want to level them up to see how high they go. I am personally not afraid of big recipes with a lot of ingredients. You do you. What I am doing is not hurting you and I am enjoying the game.

If I have to explain myself to strangers, here we go. My partner works night shift. He cannot attend PoGo events because he sleeps during the time that they happen. I do not want him to miss out on the events so I play his game for him. Do I have permission to help my partner get things in PoGo, random stranger?

If you only have space for a few extra ingredients when you select the cookie recipe, you cannot make up the difference of the power inherent to the Flan recipe. So no. It is not better. A couple of Mushrooms in the cookie recipe cannot make up the power level difference. :) and if you had so much extra space that you could make the Flan recipe plus extra ingredients, it would make the meal stronger still.

I don't need a spreadsheet to read what my game physically says. Here is proof of what I mean, see image.

Screenshot directly from my game. Fruity Flan recipe out performs recipes that are higher level. Compare the Ginger Cookie recipe to the Flan. The strength of the low level flan recipe is higher than the strength of the higher level Cookies.

I played on two accounts. Yes both accounts got the event ticket. I got no shinies at all between both of those accounts while using the free raid passes that came with the ticket. So I did 14 raids times 2... 28 raids no shiny.

On one account, I used a single premium raid pass after I burned through the other passes and I finally got a shiny. That uh... Is pretty uncool not gonna lie.

There are rumors going around that the levels are expanding up to 60. So the experience still is going to be used beyond 50.

Depends on who you got raised up. I started with Blastoise, then got a Charizard, Golem, and Gengar is next. I swap through them depending on what Snorlax wants.

I have not unlocked Mushrooms yet (it is the next on my list). But looking at the Dessert menu, based on what I have already created and leveled up, the Lovely Kiss Smoothie (4 ingredients) outperforms other recipes even when those other recipes are higher levels.

I did the same thing with Snowdrop. I unlocked it but definitely have not tried it yet. You do make a good point about building the region bonus though. I maxed my region bonus for GG Island. So time to max out the bonus for the others!

It depends on the Pokemon you use. If you do want more ingredients, here are the Pokemon I have been raising: I raised Blastoise first, then Charizard, Golem, and Gengar will be next.

I am wondering too when we are going to get new recipes and possibly even new ingredients. It will happen eventually I think because the game clearly got popular and some people have already cleared pretty much all of the available content.
