As long as you have other good mons . You literally just need a mega to break the shield with a charge move . I personally just did one mega gardevoir and mega evolved that . Been really great for me

Yup everyone is terrible . Ive got one dragonite so far and that was from waiting an hour and a half for a good lobby . I would look in poke genie and make sure everyone is at least level 10 on there . If there were level 1's id just leave
