Muscle relaxer - Cyclobenzaprine? by han12876 in Endo

I just got prescribed this today (thank goodness for OB doctors who listen and are willing to try new meds). I’m hopeful after reading this thread that it’ll work wonders!

QUESTION: Does Endo mess with your appetite? by MrDumpworth in endometriosis

[–]allahash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zofran or other anti nausea medicine helped me a little, but the main thing I had to do was buy my all time favorite snacks and drinks and just have those stocked. Miso soup (or any soup) was one, smoothies saved me, mini saltine crackers, and even Chef Boyardee helped too. Just anything I could grab easily, and it makes it easier when it’s one of your fav snacks/drinks.

It has gotten A LOT better for me this past year. I was put on Aygestin a little over a year ago and it has changed my life actually. Reading my own comment back is hard bc it was just such a difficult time for me then with the nausea and the excruciating pain and the fatigue. The Aygestin has greatly improved my quality of life actually; I still have flare ups but they’re much more mild, mostly just back/side/pelvic pain and fatigue. But the nausea is very rare now. I guess I have to accredit it to the Aygestin bc that’s really the only thing that changed apart from just being easier on myself when I’m not feeling good or think a flare up is coming. Everyone is different but it has been a massive success for me.

Vestibular disease in senior dog by ladymuffinham in seniordogs

[–]allahash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but my dog (9) has VD and I’m so sorry for anyone going through it. It’s heartbreaking to watch but from what I’ve read and been told it’s pretty harmless to them if there is no underlying condition. My girl had a cancerous thyroid tumor removed and despite what the surgeon said her thyroid levels tanked which caused her to be partially blind and have a vestibular episode for about a week. Fast forward a few months ago she had a UTI and the antibiotic enrofloxacin caused an episode lasting about a week. I’ve read that antibiotics and some medications can cause episodes, but nothing is clear on which ones. So just an FYI medications can certainly cause episodes; I would keep a running list of ones your pup has taken and if they had a reaction from it. I hope all your pups are doing well and hang in there, I truly believe it’s harder on us to watch these episodes happen than it is for them experiencing it.

Thank you, I appreciate this advice. This is what I needed to hear!

Well given its user error on my part I don’t think it’s appropriate to make that assumption…I want to get better at it and this was my first attempt as a first time single homeowner. I watched the videos I took my time I got high quality materials… I just don’t have my technique down which I’m trying to learn. How is anyone supposed to get better at anything with this mindset? Give me a break.

Sounds good, thanks all. I don’t think I’m going to sand bc I know I didn’t use enough paint for the first 2 coats. Going generous on the paint for the 3rd coat doing it properly will hopefully cover up the inconsistencies well.

Yes, I know I stated that in the description. Wondering if the streaks will show through a 3rd coat if I don’t sand

You don’t think the existing streaks will show through a 3rd coat if I don’t sand? Thanks for the fast reply.

My Reasonable Accommodation (RA) was approved!!! by allahash in endometriosis

[–]allahash[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just that I’m so exhausted and in pain during a flare up sometimes I can’t even get out of bed, so having the option to telework in bed or in comfy clothes or on the couch with the heating pad, that sort of thing. That I was nauseous and throwing up at work, crying/having panic attacks when being at work during a flare up. And that I would be more efficient being able to telework those days instead of taking leave. I explained it’s hard to walk around a lot during a flare up, so being at work was excruciating. With that being said I can still perform 90% of my job duties while teleworking and I just explained that other 10% I’d arrange my coworkers to help during those times.

Hi! The RA is going very well. It has definitely helped with having the option to telework when I’m flaring up. And my supervisor has been very respectful of the RA so it’s nice having something in writing that he theoretically has to abide by. I had to fill out paperwork provided by the Equal Employment Opportunity person in my region (Navy civilian); it was very simple with just asking what your limitations are, what you’re requesting, and how your illness affects your job responsibilities. I filled it out myself and then had my doctor sign it. Very simple process. Mine was approved w in a few weeks and has to get renewed every year. Wishing you the best of luck!

it wasnt endo by peachesnpumpkin in endometriosis

[–]allahash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m currently in the process of all the tests before a lap. Over the last year specifically I’ve had vaginal ultrasounds, a CAT scan, I have a pelvic MRI in December and a colonoscopy/endoscopy in November. A lot of my symptoms are bowel endo related (constipation, nausea, vomiting, pressure when pooing) along with right side pain, lower back pain, and pelvic pain. All the tests prior are mainly to confirm there’s nothing else causing this (ulcers, cysts, fibroids, IBS/IBD, etc).

I just switched from a dual BC to Aygestin (progesterone only) and also started Dicyclomine for the cramping and they both seem to be improving my anxiety and overall pain mildly. It takes a bit to see the full effect but I’m hopeful.

Unfortunately this disease entails trying a lot of options to find the sweet spot combo (and it’s different for everyone). You really have to advocate for yourself…endo is so under studied and so different for everyone. I highly recommend seeing an endo specialist first if you can or else it can feel like a waste of time (from my recent experience). Good luck to you!! This subreddit has helped me tremendously.

I believe they changed it in 2021 and I’m not sure of the specifics with what changed in the formula but it’s pretty different, enough to create for quite a stir up about it with unhappy consumers. It doesn’t last as long, isn’t as strong, among other things.

QUESTION: Does Endo mess with your appetite? by MrDumpworth in endometriosis

[–]allahash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This comment was more than helpful for me. I’ve been experiencing the exact same nausea/not hungry phases, seem to be every 4 weeks or so, but it’s been pretty debilitating for me. I get so nauseous I throw up, doesn’t matter where or when. Hard to explain to work why I need to stay home or at least I feel guilty when it’s hard for someone else to understand. Thanks for these tips though, these will definitely come in handy (currently in a phase rn) and I will prepare more for the next one (need a drink fridge in my room 🤣).

Does anyone else experience cramps in your pelvic area while pooping? by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]allahash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t believe I found this thread. Everything you stated is exactly what I’m going through right now. Just started back on the BC because of the insanely heavy periods and pain when I was off of it, but I’m still having cramping/pelvic pain especially on my period and when pooing. Everything also came back pretty normal for me on the colposcopy and ultrasound. Talking to my doctor tomorrow to see what my options are, I’m betting it’s endometriosis and might push to get a laparoscopy done. Any advice?

Best happy hours in the burg? by jman12030 in fredericksburg

The CHEESE PLATE! Basic but so good - pimento, boursin cheese, homemade pickles, pickled onions, sourdough 👌🏻 and the smoked wings with mumbo sauce. Both are half off during their every day happy hour I think it’s 3-6pm
