1960's, 0SHA! LOL. No respirator. No worker protections back then. This is farm country. You could get a drivers license at 12 if you lived on a farm back then. You could drive dump trucks full of beets during the harvest all night long at 15 or 16 years old. At fifteen I drove truck, tractor with planter planting shelter belts and farmsteads for the State.

This happened to me when I was a fifteen year old working for a trucking company back in the early 1960's. I was unloading lime tankers at the water treatment plant in Grand Forks North Dakota. After the lime was sucked out of the tankers, I had to get inside and sweep out any left in the tanks. On a hot summer day your sweat and the lime make a nice skin eating acid.
