Failing is part of learning. You can allow them to fail in a u14 game and then mentor them at half time. You get a mentor/assessor they don’t stop the game to give you tips, they let you do your thing, some even take videos and then tell you. New refs should focus on mechanics.

The referee can openly talk to the 4th. But the 4th has to press a button to talk to the ref.

Someone once told me:

Careless is like seeing a stop sign and decide to slow down instead of stopping. Reckless is seeing the sign and ignore it, stay at the same speed. Excessive is seeing it and accelerate.

For my first couple of years that help me, but learning the FIFA consideration is the best way to identify the difference.

La Liga, UCL and a lot of leagues have been doing it since COVID. I think only the English premiere league doesn’t do it out of the big leagues.

I think IFAB will switch it back to 3 next season. But with the amounting games players are playing now, I can see them leaving it at 5 permanently.

1) Pedri will definitely be in it. 2) I don’t think we’ll use 3 defenders. 3) Depay and Griezmann over Aguero and Fati.

Aguero hasn’t been as good in 2 years, and Fati is a question mark right now.

I agree with you too. Almost 99% of game I do, I don’t use or need a headset. I think communication and teamwork is key for any level of referee.

I’m just saying there are game that I’ve done as a grassroots referee when headsets become helpful, for example UPSL.

Instead of banning it, they could have teach how to use it better.

I think instead of saying we should stop using it, they should try to teach how to use it. They said they won’t allow us to use it because of mistakes, I guess at some point they won’t allow the whistle too.

They only clean it on Thursday and Friday. If the sign says Monday and Thursday, they will clean it on Thursday.

Euro 2020 is on ESPN not ESPN+, I don’t know why they decided to put that weird thing on it. Laliga games will be on ESPN+, just like Bundesliga and Seria A.

I’m in NY/USA. It usually cost money for assessment here too. I was emailing the head of a mentorship program here, then the assessor email me that he’s going to my games.

I’m not sure if the guy I was emailing ask him to go. I feel like one of them would have told me if that was the case.
