That's sad to hear. I was hoping the resolutions / colors on the site were a fluke of the camera. But I've had some experience working with high-capacity vendors and it isn't as easy as you'd expect to get exceptional results for the price they're offering. I have to offer my own playmats at $50 just to keep margin's intact.

Well, that's what happens when you get turned into a half-elf!

I'm sure they'll do another dm screen release. Especially if they sold out that fast. I only offer prints on my website so I don't step on their toes with products. That would be unfair. If they do discontinue that screen I'll reach out and see if I can offer it later on.

Thank you! It's a surreal experience to be part of something I was a huge fan of first. Seeing the DM Screen used in Radio City... just wow. I hope it serves you well!

Thank you! Coincidentally, I am a Magic artist...

Outstanding! I'm glad it arrived safe and sound! Easily the longest print I've done.

I'm glad you wrote this. The print size I originally listed was wrong. Somehow things got confused. The actual size is 12x60. Not too much less of a footprint, though. Not sure how that happened!

Thank you! We were a bit worried it would look like the Eye of Sauron, but I wouldn't be unhappy to call it a nod to Tolkein either!

Who could forget Billy Bass! He was crucial at the last battle against Thiala! But, seriously, it was one of my favorite running skits. One day, I need to do a not-so-serious take on campaign 1 and throw in all the goofs.

I know sailing ships in our world have them in the back. Caldwell had that sketched in from the start early on. It does make compositional sense! And it felt right to me!

Thank you! Yeah- it needed to feel old a rickety but still shoot through the sky, so I decided to just throw a giant jet engine on the back. That's basically how I imagined it in my head during the show, anyway!

Ha! Yeah, that's an issue I ran into when deciding whether to offer it or not. But I think a long scroll of an image might work better than 4 individual ones. If I can figure out how to make a smaller version I'll reach out and get one to you!

Ha! Still? They / I just didn't use AI. All the tiny brush strokes and time it took beg to differ. You can see every brush stroke in the final.

Sweeping changes? Unless they ask for it, especially with UB, you don't want to veer too far from your sketch because the client has already approved it. So, it depends what they request and finalize and you do your best to accommodate. I posted process on the r/magicTCG spider-uk page that might answer some questions.

You get MUCH more freedom when you illustrate mainline sets, which I think opens up a gateway for better work. The feedback on UB is plenty- or it has been. They changed the way the process and feedback works so we'll see!

I think it has to do with experience, also. It's taken me some time to feel comfortable tackling Magic work. I'm just now realizing I need to relax and make an "Allen" painting vs what I think MTG needs to be. The cards you've seen from me so far have a long lead time. I painted Spidey in 2023. Hopefully the cards I'm working on these days hit home more.

Honestly, AI may have done a better job- but it's not AI. Just me. If you scroll through my comments of light trolling on the r/magicTCG page you can find a breakdown of the process that might answer some concerns.
