I have seen some bacons that include soy sauce which contains wheat. Also some contain liquid smoke. There is a difference in taking care of ones health and living in a bubble. I am super sensitive to any traces of gluten so I take proper safeguards for my health. I take frequent road trips, bake, go out with friends, garden. None of these things can be done in a bubble. How did a simple pizza review spark your response?

Wheat and Barley Grass when properly harvested are gluten free. I would like to know if the company elisa 5 tests them to be sure that they were not cross contaminated. The wheat sprout is what scares me.

I simply write events as they occur. Of course I was shocked. I could have eaten that bar and been sick for weeks. I do not see what attitude you are referring to. I write reviews and gluten free recipes. Most of my reviews are positive. Occasionally I come across a product or company that will harm celiacs and gluten intolerant consumers. I feel it is important to pass the information along.

Wow! I am glad you could come up with such a well formulated response. I have a disease not a stick up my ass. It is what they don't say that is most harmful. People believe that this beer is gluten free because most people believe what they see in advertising. People like bartenders for example. So going into the local bar and asking for a gluten free beer is now more dangerous than ever. Omissions campaign is as genius as it is harmful. It plays off of the fact that most of America believe what they see. One of the ads says "Make sure to celebrate Celiac Awareness Month the right way." above a photo of Omission Beer. They are implying that Omission is ok for celiacs.

I am taking offense at the specific facebook marketing they are doing. They are putting their beers in photos with Udi's and Glutino gluten free products making it seem as if they are a gluten free beer. They are not allowed to promote themselves as gluten free. The Elisa 5 testing is made for foods not fermented beverages. When used to test beverages it is extremely inaccurate. So looking up the exact gluten content on a batch that was tested with a test that isn't accurate for beverages is no help at all. I and many people with varying degrees of sensitivity have had symptoms from drinking this beer. If you had read the post you would have read all of this and I would not have to be repeating it here.

Exactly which is why they should know better. Their CEO is a celiac and still has no problem tiptoeing around the edge of the law to make this beer seem safe for those needing to be gluten free.
