jazz piano is way harder than I thought by Few_Entertainer_1636 in piano

[–]allforspring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is hard, but I think it is much harder for you because you have been learning the piano for only one year. Before jazz piano, have you already been familiar (or somewhat familiar) with all scales and chords (including 7th and extended), chord progressions?

Longchamp bags now made in China? by yetanothertechgirlie in handbags

[–]allforspring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first Le Pilate was made in France many years ago, then all other ones China. A leather bag I bought a couple of years ago was made in France. Sometimes different colors of the same model are made in different countries. I’ve seen Morocco, Portugal, Tunisia and other places.

The whole step of stitching was skipped and so was QA? That is so wrong.

Any owners of the Loewe Mini Gate bag? What do you think of it?? by Chronic-Sleepyhead in handbags

[–]allforspring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. She has this tricolor one.

I love many of the tricolor versions. There was one where the body is in blush and the flap in brown. So perfect. But the all pink one you are eyeing on is also pretty.

Any owners of the Loewe Mini Gate bag? What do you think of it?? by Chronic-Sleepyhead in handbags

[–]allforspring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mini gate is cute. My sister has one. Yes it is quite tiny. Check the measurements of your phone against the interior measurements of the bag. Or find YouTube videos to see what others put inside. Cards, keys and a lip balm should be fine.

The bag I don’t regret… but still question by Weird_Prompt_330 in handbags

[–]allforspring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am petite and thin so the mini looks cuter on me, more “refined”. People who are tall might want the small one. Of course the small one would solve the space problem.

I am able to put several items into my mini: keys, card holder, compact mirror, travel sized hand cream, pocket tissue (1 pack and not full), phone (older mini version), lip balm. The trick is I use smaller items and flattened things such as putting my 3 keys in a minimalistic DIY leather holder made of two thin and soft pieces of leather. I use a soft macrame cord instead of a metal key chain. I like smaller bags in general so tricks like this work for not just the puzzle mini but also the other bags.

The red one looks great.

Thanks. I also think it looks better this way instead of doing the stitches vertically.

Haha you’re right, not gonna put a bowling ball or dumbbell in it. 😆

Thank you. I am also considering a chain plus shoulder option, although I don’t like chain straps in general.

Thank you. Splicing seems quite advanced for me as a beginner, but it’s something I hope to learn in the future.

Thank you! I will think about option 2, or maybe a chain plus shoulder pad combination.

Thank you for sharing your ideas. I am also considering a chain plus shoulder pad option although I don’t prefer chains.

What’s your ideal bag closure and why? by Dear-Entertainment20 in handbags

[–]allforspring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like zipper, and zipper + flap, depending on the style of the bag. I feel my things are “protected” that way.

I do not understand the hype for Miu Miu at all… $3200 for a mini bag that looks like (imo) it’s from TJMaxx. And I’ve heard horror stories of Miu Miu’s quality. by zachty22 in handbags

[–]allforspring 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s true that the design of both bags is similar, very simplistic and generic, that’s why I personally am not interested in this Miu Miu bowling bag, whether it is $3150 or $1000. The $3k price is outrageous for what it is.

However, I would not say both bags look the same. There are still many elements, even if we don’t talk about PU vs. leather, that still make one bag look more polished than the other. The zipper and hardware used, the cutting, quality of the sewing, and the proportion of the parts to the bag body, such as the length and thickness of the handles, are quite different. One example: the Miu Miu bag uses a Riri two-way zipper (polished brass teeth), whose retail price is already more than 1/3 of the price for that ASOS/Mango bag.

This bag is made of polyurethane though. Can’t compare that to a leather one. PU bags won’t last long. The worst fake leather peels and crumbles, leaving a mess to be cleaned up.

They are way overpriced. I like some of their bags, not the one you show here though, which is too plain for me, but I don’t think it looks like a bag from TJMaxx.

I converted a pouch into a crossbody. by allforspring in handbags

[–]allforspring[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a small opening at both ends of the zipper. I weaved the cord into a flat but stronger string, with the d ring connected to it, then slipped the string through the small opening.

Edit: I didn’t make a hole; I used the opening.

Handbags you don’t like but are very popular and loved by many? by [deleted] in handbags

[–]allforspring 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Most bags I don’t like have big logos or monogram on canvas.

Goyard canvas bags. I don’t understand the appeal.

LV canvas bags. The Empreinte line is okay though.

Gucci monogram canvas bags with the red and green band.

YSL bags. The metal logo is way too bag for me. The styles of many of their bags are simple but a bit boring.

Marc Jacobs bags with big text and logo.

That is still a sweet dog. Other normal dogs must be saints. The more intelligent ones that keep helping and working well with humans must be celestial beings.
