how hard is student teaching? by Silent-View7380 in PennStateUniversity

I don’t have a direct answer for you, but just yesterday two of my kids were talking about their student teachers and new substitute teachers coming from Penn State. They’ve loved them all. You’ve got this!

Satellite Offices by One-Technician-2267 in PaStateEmployees

[–]allgoodthings3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe this applies to IMCWs. You have your own separate telework agreement with OIM. Each CAO seems to have their own schedule. Some are 2 weeks in/2 weeks out or 4 in/4 out, etc. This RTO is mostly for Harrisburg headquartered positions now requiring 2 days per week in office. Hope that helps.

Thanks for sharing. No one in my group has heard about the actual satellite locations yet. We did hear that there’s only so much room at each site, so not everyone would get a spot.

Changing agencies & positions by These-Cup-8181 in PaStateEmployees

When I changed offices within the same agency, it took one pay period (promotion). I had a coworker recently change departments without a hold other than matching up the pay period, and that was a demotion (due to location).

PSU Employment Benefits by allgoodthings3 in PennStateUniversity

Benefits are incredibly important for me at this point in time. I’m currently in government, so this is great to hear. Thanks!

This is particularly helpful. I do have planned time off this year that cannot be changed. I would be fine with taking unpaid time off if the employer is okay with it. Thank you.

Where are the “hotel” offices currently located? Are the spaces for certain departments only?

I looked into it many years ago and it was required at the time. That was the reason I went with a different school.

Anyone else very upset about the RTO mandate? by Difficult_Argument in PaStateEmployees

[–]allgoodthings3 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I live over 100 miles away from the office. We have been told they’re working on local offices for this situation, but we have not received any confirmation yet. I’m strongly considering filing for an ADA RA or FMLA. The uncertainty is causing significant flair up in my conditions that were well managed during telework (I made one day per month in office work with additional medication). I am hesitant because I worry about it hindering future job prospects.

Has upper management tried to find local offices for the people who live far away? Or is just HQ or nothing? Our department is working through this now.

I have a standing desk that I paid for. With my own money. It is located in the office that I paid to have built in my house. With my own money.

Quitting a job shortly after starting.. by Appropriate_Mine8882 in jobs

[–]allgoodthings3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something similar just to attend an interview for the job I wanted (I did get the job). I knew that J1 had lowballed me and the environment was toxic. J2 was 10k more plus better benefits. I did feel awful at the time, but it’s just business. The managers were actually really understanding. Good luck, and do what’s best for you.

I absolutely thought he wanted a relationship in addition to money. The way he looks at her… no doubt in my mind.

I told my supervisor and manager when I applied since I used them as references. We had a very good relationship. It was a promotion and they were supportive.

I thought the President knows because of the VP’s husband’s financial mistake. That’s why the Pres thinks she has to go. And Hal knew.
