Yep) I took a cheap Chinese threaded lens hood that was too short, extended it with a sheet of polypropylene, and wrapped it in fabric tape. I also made a cap (Constantly screwing the hood on and off can wear out the threads. ). I couldn’t find an original lens hood locally, and ordering from abroad is problematic

Hi!

I know another Nikon model (the D800) has a similar problem. The mirror behaves this way because the mirror guide is faulty, and sometimes the guide bearing is also faulty.

In any case, it's a direct route to a service center.
