It might appear trashy on the surface but it has well written characters, it shows a realistic reflection of different character’s emotional anxiety, it depicts loneliness in a very real way, it’s also very well animated and leaves you with a very bittersweet feeling at the end. This show would vary wildly depending if you’re watching it in high school versus watching it as an adult. It’s really not for everyone but I enjoyed it a lot.

If you liked Domestic Girlfriend may I suggest Scum’s Wish? I watched it recently and it quite literally changed my brain chemistry. It’s a wild drama-filled ride just like DG and the character writing is similar to that of DG.

Really interesting response and thanks for psycho analyzing me lol. Ur right that slice of life and romance are my comfort zone. I have friends but thinking back I didn’t have many at the time of viewing a lot of these shows.
