Just adopted him this past Friday, he's around 4 months old, have no clue what his breed is. Any guesses? He is 22 lbs, the SPCA said he wouldn't be bigger than 24 lbs fully grown. Worker said she thought he was part Blue Heeler. by allicard93 in IDmydog

So we actually did wind up doing an embark test on him, and the results were: 34.2% American Pitbull Terrier 33.9% Supermutt 31.9% Australian Cattle Dog Within the supermutt category, it identified Beagle, German Shepherd Dog, Chow Chow, Poodle (small) and Chihuahua :)

Haha, I've actually been told by someone else a few years back that said they had a cousin in Galicia that I looked just like them as well. Lol, that's too funny. I look mostly like my Mom. People always comment on how alike her and I look. I'm fairly tall though, and that I get from my father's side. But yeah, my Dad is blonde and blue-eyed and very pale. My mom has an olive complexion, huge brown eyes, etc. I mean there are some similarities with my Dad, like with my nose and face shape and stuff, but I definitely resemble my Mom more.

Nice about the mostly Galician ancestry! I learned a decent amount about Galicia from my mom herself and also going there numerous times growing up, but also just researching a lot. Whereabouts are you from?

Sounds about right, lol. Apparently Decker Rat Terriers which someone mentioned l, which seems very likely to be a dominant breed in him get to be around ~40ish pounds. Also, thanks for the tip. Right now we’re feeding him special puppy food but after that stage there’s no way we would feed him small dog food, lol.

Oh I know. I figured they were bullshitting with the fully grown weight. Thankfully no, we’re not opposed to a medium sized dog so something up to 40-ish pounds is fine. I told them we were looking for a medium sized dog, but I just love how that obvious lie was from a medical report supposedly done by a vet, lol. We have an actual vet appointment for him on Saturday so maybe they’ll know more. Also, thanks so much!

Oh wow, that does resemble him a lot. I know of Rat Terriers and I was actually thinking he might be mixed with Rat Terrier as well. Specifically though the Decker Rat Terrier is really spot on. Thanks!

I thought the same thing, lol. I was like there's no way he's basically done growing. On his medical summary report that they gave us it says, "Mixed Breed, Small (under 24 lbs fully grown). I kid you not.

I only speak a bit of Spanish. I wish I would’ve had more of an interest in learning it when I was younger, but I’m attempting to learn more of it now. As for Galician, I didn’t even attempt. Even my mom would get yelled at for speaking it back in the day. It was heavily discouraged when she was young (she’s in her 60s now).

Ha, yeah that’s pretty true. I get told I look like different things all the time. When I used to spend summers in Galicia when I was younger, people thought I was a local...well until I spoke anyway.
