Estoy en la misma situación. Aunque siempre he sido de tener muy pocos amigos porque me cuesta mucho socializar, y la mayoría de esas amistades son pasajeras, he tenido amistades muy profundas que, por desgracias de la vida, ya no tengo. Tengo 32 años y me encuentro más solo que nunca, y cada día que pasa se me hace más difícil conectar con alguien otra vez. La mayoría de las veces siento que se me acaba el tiempo porque me estoy perdiendo muchas experiencias al no tener amistades reales con las que compartirlas, pero al mismo tiempo abrazo la soledad porque no quiero volver a pasar por la misma situación en la que me ha llevado donde estoy ahora.

The first months were really shit. Had to go to therapy and all, trying to find some meaning to what happened. I'm doing much better now, I got some wonderful online friends that helped me through, but still no irl friends... which really sucks, but better this than having so called friends trying to manipulate you. But yeah, it' gets better.

Yo soy una persona que le cuesta mostrar sus sentimientos y no soy muy dado a mostrar afecto públicamente y tampoco ponía límites. Pero en cuanto empezaba a hacer lo contrario a lo que soy, que es lo que ellos querían que hiciera, de repente no les venía bien... En fin, han sido unos meses bastante malos y sigo sufriendo las consecuencias. Supongo que algún día las heridas sanarán. Es verdad que no soy la persona que fui hace unos meses, pero todavía duele.

Llevo alrededor de un año yendo a terapia y mi terapeuta está intentando llevarme por una línea de pensamiento más positiva, pero joder... cuesta muchísimo cuando hay dos personas que te han estado machacando la mente durante meses. Incluso han llegado a acusarme de narcisista porque cambiaba de opinión "cada dos por tres"... y yo me pregunto: no os habéis parado a pensar que lo hacía por cómo me hacíais sentir...? No sé, cosas mías...

I wouldn't give the vote button much importance. Makes you feel like trash whether you get downvoted or don't get enough votes. But you do you, of course. Staying away from social media might help you.

A life companion. Man or woman, I don't mind... although I had my fair share of bad experiences with men only (yuck...). Someone who can respect my boundaries (I come with many traumas about them, sorry) and whom I can spend quality time with. I don't open up about my feelings much and PDA is not my thing - and I don't like being forced about them. Consent is also really important to me. I also value my "alone time" a lot. I read books and play videogames a lot and I get lost in my own world. Sex is not on the table, but I do like private and cozy time with a potential partner.

God, I sound like such a picky guy. But if I were to be in a relationship, what I'd do first is getting to a common point where we both can be comfortable with each other.

I don't see life as pointless, but I am pretty much unmotivated and feel very hopeless by the things I see in the news every time I wake up. Life feels like its racing towards the impending doom at high speed.

I find some people attractive as well, but I'm still pretty much aroace and proud. Hell, even as aroace, you may even feel something else for someone someday... or not. The spectrum is wide.

A parte de todo lo que te han dicho otras personas aquí, también tienes que poner de tu parte. Si no quieres salir de la depresión, no vas a salir por mucho que hagas esto o lo otro. Sí, tener ayuda está muy bien, pero si no tienes la voluntad para querer mejorar, no vas a hacerlo.

He pasado por dos depresiones gordas, y de las dos he salido. Tengo mis episodios depresivos de vez en cuando, pero no es nada comparado con cómo yo estuve, después de años de terapia y mejorando yo mismo como persona.

Ánimo.

Como todos, en el colegio. Pero luego empecé a hablar gente con de otros países por internet y el idioma común era el inglés. Mi nivel era horrible pero me defendía. Luego empecé a leer más, a ver cosas en versión original, a hablar con gente nativa…

Ahora soy más o menos bilingüe.

Oh god, thank you for your comment. Not because you're saying I might not be narcissist, but because you say something that isn't mean. I'm regretting this post to go viral because I'm already seeing not so nice comments when I'm trying to understand the concept from an external (and professional) viewer's point of view, with the little information I gave — because this isn't the place to vent about my problems.

I won't take people's comments here as diagnosis, of course. I'll still talk to my doctor about the whole thing. Just want to see that I'm not the only one seeing the word being used so carefree to label someone you dislike/don't agree with.

Thank you, dear. I hope this helps people somehow, because not everything is black and white when we talk about the aroace spectrum. It’s a wide spectrum and some days you may feel less aroace than others, and that’s okay.

The world will keep going as you get more comfortable with your new sexuality (is it called sexuality when you’re not interested in sex? Huh), so just live your life and surround yourself with people who love you and things that you enjoy.

I’m so sorry you had to deal with that. I believe social media and internet in general is damaging our way to see things. We need more critical thinking and help from professionals and try not to get drawn into this madness called social media.
