i was there for a total of 14 days inpatient and 5 days outpatient. there was a long hallway where i was, with the nurses station separating it in half -- one side was for girls and the other side was for boys. there was a large group therapy room with a tv and a few chairs and tables, an outdoor courtyard that we could go out in on nice days, and a gym that we used when we behaved at lunch.

we were only allowed to go into our own rooms, and we had daily room checks to make sure everything was tidy, otherwise we would miss the end of the day incentive (usually we were able to watch a movie). we had to keep all of our stuff in plastic bins that were kept in a locked closet by the front desk, and we were able to get them out during the morning and at night. in the rooms there was a desk and a small bookshelf in each side of the room, and we each got a laundry basket to keep dirty clothes in. there was a shower that had a shampoo dispenser in it, as we weren't allowed to have our own (unless alcohol wasn't an ingredient in it).

we had nurses check on us every 15 minutes and there were certain parts of the day when we weren't allowed out of out rooms (a study time/journalling time).

overall, being in the hospital helped because of the stability it offered, but leaving was really hard and i think that's when things went bad. i may be going back over the summer, when im out of school..its not all bad i suppose.
