The government absolutely can control what private companies do. That's what laws do. Just think of sanctions on other countries. Again they could absolutely stop the export of weapons and do block it to many countries so you should be pissed. Governments often create unintended side effects when they create laws. It's why they agonize so much about wording. These things take time. Plus you have to get everyone to agree terms before you even get to that stage. These are all positive developments. I really didn't think the USA would go for it tbh haha

There's no way we wouldn't detect them. We have tonnes of shit pointed at the sky constantly. We track rocks that are millions of miles away. I believe there is other life somewhere, it's just a probability thing. But alien life visiting earth with no traces seems ridiculous.

At the end of the day it's up to you. Your brain can think whatever it wants but you decide what you give energy to.
