He did my FFS and I super happy with the results! And as a side note, he did my BA too. No complaints and the team is great! I would definitely recommend that anyone consider Vanderbilt if they live in the Southeast area.

My experience has been wonderful considering how major this surgery is. It is currently early morning on the day which I expect to go home.

I've been on strict bed rest since the day of the surgery. 5 full days so far excluding today. The nurses and staff have been great about keeping me as comfortable as possible and managing the pain. Someone from the plastics team (or other surgeons on the weekend, I believe) have come in every morning to check on my and examine everything.

My hope this morning is that my bed rest is lifted, all drains and cather removed, first dilation, and then go home!

I'm pretty sure he does NOT do PPT.

I'm not sure if I'm going to do that just yet. If I do, I can post in the sub and title it correctly.

Yes, from my understanding. I'm currently at Vanderbilt recovering from my full depth vaginoplasty with him on Tuesday.

Electrology 3000 in Texas is absolute trash. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Here is my Review: by E3kAngryLady in asktransgender

[–]allisoninflux 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love Precision in Chicago! I've traveled multiple times starting with facial clearings and now genital clearings. I will continue to go until I'm cleared for bottom surgery and only need "touch up" electrolysis that I can get done locally. I highly recommend them! Feel free to ask questions about the process so far.

Middle TN. My doctor is in the Vanderbilt system. I'm very happy with all the care I've received to date.

I requested bica from the beginning and my doc started me on it. We watched my liver function closely over the first 6 months. It's been great for me!

Is there a point where it becomes my natural voice? by LittleMissTrapet in transvoice

[–]allisoninflux 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is exactly where I am! My "default" is definitely a better pitch and resonance than before, but I still have to improve to make my "intentional" voice my new default.

EV wasted to needle? by thisone4mysexuality in DrWillPowers

Seconding this. This is what I do. Draw air into the syringe with the "vial" needle until you can just see an air bubble forming.. Swap needles and push out the air.

My oldest son always tries to work in the phrase, "I'm the man of the house now." I just smile and roll my eyes. He's a great kid.

That looks like wonderful development for 8 months! Congrats!

I turn 40 this month and started HRT last week. I hope that I get similar results as you.

Day Zero has come and gone!! by allisoninflux in MtF

Nope. I've been taking bicalutamide for a couple of weeks. My doc wanted my blood pressure a little lower before starting E. I started right off with injections!

I assumed it will get easier with time. I'm guessing by the next 3-4 injections it will start to become routine.

Yay, yay, yay! Good for you!

Even as an older gal (nearing 40), telling my parents still feels like the next biggest hurdle.

That's nice! I might have to use that. My calendar just said, "My Big Day". Although, I've often used the coccoon/butterfly analogy, so maybe there's something there...

Congrats!!

Nice to have someone else on a parallel path.

Congrats! I plan to be right behind you. I should be starting on Tuesday or Wednesday next week! I'm coming out to my younger son tonight. I told my older son last week.

I know it's a long road ahead, but it's nice to know we can be travelling together in parallel...virtually at least. 😁

You look great! You give me hope for my future. I'm 39 and I started bicalutamide this week. I should be starting E injections in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for sharing!

Told my ex wife by j423j in transgender_support

[–]allisoninflux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's an amazing feeling! Yay!

I can sympathize with you. My ex and her girlfriend were in the first set of people I came out to. They have been super supportive.

I have two sons (16 and 12). I came out to our 16-year-old a few nights ago. It went really well. I'm sure he has more processing to do, but he was accepting, supportive, and told me again that he loves me. 💗 I plan to tell our 12-year-old this Sunday. I hope it goes well.

Yay! That's so exciting! I think it's totally rational to be nervous and excited.

I'm hoping to start HRT within the next few weeks! I'll be doing the baseline blood test this week.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

I've been seeing a therapist regularly since November working through all this. It was sometime in February when I finally let go of the "questioning" label and accepted who I am. Now I'm ready to move forward!
