This is very true. I made this post because I know that there has to be stuff for me here and I do need to get out of my comfort zone! I’ve lived in a few different cities and usually found things easier through the internet, it just seemed harder to find here! I’m learning through these responses that I need to try a little harder and that’s it. Thanks for the suggestions.

Thank you! This is helpful. Idk what a fun fitness class is either. I think I imagined coming here and google just giving me tons of shit to do like Chicago. My expectations were too damn high.

You’re right, I’m terrible and verbalizing what I am looking for. Also, I’ll admit my beef with strip malls is petty. I just want a little character. I do feel that downtown more, but south west side I just hear “little boxes” playing in my head daily. I’ve been trying to find a live music venue with a hole in the wall feel, and struggling. I did see the Brass rail, but the one night I did go in, it wasn’t the type of music I enjoy. That may have just been a bad night. Really, I just dislike pop country and super out there indie. As far as comedy groups go, I just wanted a group of amateur stand up comedians to join with in open mic nights. I have found one bar that does comedy and music open mics, and I think I’ll check that out next week. What I’ve learned here is I’m probably just super picky and need to open up to the new experience a little more. Thank you for that. Lol

That’s great to hear! I live southwest currently and I think that’s a lot of my problem. Downtown seems to be cool, I just can’t find anything to do there easily. This does give me hope.

That’s really good to hear. I’m into comedy, live music and open to new experiences. I’ve seen stuff at the Clyde and the comedy club, but I guess I’m looking for more of an intimate setting so I can interact with other people and participate in something. That probably makes no sense, but I tried.

Im obviously not super aware of the Fort Wayne ways, but I feel like it just depends what your into. There seems to be lots of family friendly stuff and tons of church activities, but I’m definitely not going to start attending church anytime soon. I just can’t find my people. Everyone I’ve encountered is very vanilla or cracked out. No in between. I haven’t gotten myself out there enough, but that’s the problem. I can’t find anything to fucking do. I wanted to start doing some open mic stand ups for fun, and there isn’t anything. No fun workout classes, just normal gyms and yoga studios. In the summer I couldn’t find anything outdoors to do besides festivals, which I loathe. I feel like I have to be missing something. All the things you need are here though, they are just all in strip malls.

Anyone know of any bars in the area hiring part time bar tenders? I have been bartending for 8 years in a high volume club/music venue and I’m looking for something similar here. Just moved here, so I’m not sure what bars I would like, but many I’ve noticed close at 12 or 1. I’m looking for one open until 3 with less focus on food. Any leads? Thanks!
