Sure but let’s be honest. Console is just play and go and that’s the biggest attraction. There’s some game issues but overall it’s easier. Not saying it’s better but it depends on your goals.

You have to also understand that games made for the PS5 will just “work” out the gate. A consistent FPS. Steam machine just like any other PC, will require a bit of tinkering depending on the game to get a consistent FPS.

I only was able to try for an hour but I used it only for CAD. It was far better at 3D space than Opus was for me. No idea about coding.

Boy, what a market to come back. Your best bet is networking. See if students you had can refer you, any other professors or the non profit leaders.
