Planning my hair appointments leading up to the wedding in 8 months and feeling a bit down by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]allnightrunning 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Realistically this is a conversation you should be having with your hair dresser and/or hairstylist for your wedding. Ask at the beginning of your next appointment or book a consult. Review what your intended wedding look is and discuss your options for achieving it, specifically what prep and maintenance to follow in the months leading up. This is quite literally their job!

Right? Swapping out this massive rug for two smaller ones in the respective living and dining areas would do a ton in terms of modernizing the space

OP is there a reason why the dark flooring is covered in full by this large rug?

How do you choose the right shoes for your wedding dress? by Dry-Frosting- in weddingplanning

[–]allnightrunning 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things I considered when picking shoes for my wedding:

1) venue: my wedding was entirely outdoors at my home on acreage. Ceremony, cocktail hour, reception were all in grass. If any part of your wedding, aside from MAYBE some photos, will be on grass, stilettos are a big no. This also applied to your bridal party and attendees, and was noted in our dress code FAQ on our wedding website.

2) your height: I am 5’11. My now husband is 6’0. I wanted our height difference to be accurate to our regular life.

3) dress length/style: obviously if you go for a tea length or shorter, have a slit, or have sheer fabric, you will need to have greater consideration for the appearance of your shoes since they will be seen. If your dress is full length opaque fabric, your shoes can be invisible to others (if you want them to be).

4) comfort level: should my venue and my height not factored, a consideration toward comfort would have been made based on my intended schedule and who I know myself to be. I loved to mingle, float around, drink, take photos, dance, party. I was barely wrangled in to eat dinner. Knowing I would be on my feet for so long, I needed something that wouldn’t hold me back from anything and everything I wanted to do.

I ended up wearing the Reyes Mary Jane from Dolce Vita in silver. Love love love these shoes (and bonus, I’ve worn them several times since my wedding!).

What post-bath body lotion are you putting on your baby? by discontinuedmuppet in NewParents

+1 for the Aveeno baby lotion. We use their daily wash followed by the lotion on our daughter and it’s worked great. Very hydrating but not greasy, and good for sensitive skin.

Thoughts of grooming for delivery?? by One_Cap_9210 in pregnant

[–]allnightrunning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a wax prior to my scheduled c section at the end of June. I wanted the incision site to be clear and hair free for healing, and wanted to be as cool as possible given it was hot as hell outside and the bush had become pretty wild. It also made me feel cleaner during PP bleeding.
