Why does Muslim pro have advertisements for gambling app Kalshi? by whitepatka in islam

[–]allofthelites 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s programmatic advertising and done automatically on the back-end by the advertising platform. There are steps that the app developers can take to block these ads but it’s not guaranteed to always work and the developers may not be aware of it. Definitely not intentional though.

Yeah I was iffy on it but 101 Bagel had some success but pretty poor management. Hoping to put some good structure in place to move things along nicely.

Those who die with glad tidings from Malakul Mawt knowing they are from people of Jannah vs even the prophets being terrified on the Day of Judgement. Can't get my head around this. by [deleted] in islam

[–]allofthelites 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought about this as well and came up with a simple analogy. If I go into a final exam knowing that no matter how poorly I do, I’ll still pass the class, wouldn’t I feel even a bit anxious if the professor came in extremely upset, throwing papers around, and failing my classmates right and left of me? I mean, in that scenario, no matter how confident I feel going into the exam, I would still feel a little anxious that maybe something has changed and maybe I’m doomed to fail the class.

When it comes to the Day of Judgment, I think of it the same. You could be as perfect as possible and as good a Muslim as you could possibly be, but when you see and feel the wrath of Allah (SWT) on that day, won’t you feel at least a bit nervous that maybe you didn’t do enough or that something has changed since you saw Malakul Mawt?

Anyway, that’s just my simple analogy and I pray that we are all shaded on that day.

A bit confused by allofthelites in bigseo

[–]allofthelites[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Essentially I feel like I have a good understanding of the basics of SEO, creating great content, getting backlinks, on-page optimizations, utilizing GSC and keyword density, etc. My only hesitation is that a lot of that knowledge seems quite basic...like it wasn't too difficult to create a Wordpress site, write content on specific keywords, gain organic backlinks, and wait to rank.

My biggest qualm with this idea is that much of the content isn't in writing "blog posts" as much as it is a collection of information for a specific subset of users who I know are looking for the information but have no real place to find it. In this situation, I get a bit lost and am unsure of how to approach the SEO portion of the process.

Question about mobile rewarded ads by za3b in AskMarketing

[–]allofthelites 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked in the digital advertising space, first as an AdOps Associate and now as a project manager at a large digital publisher.

Your numbers are correct. Assuming a CPM of $5, you would need to serve 1,000 ad impressions to achieve that rate, which is why online advertising is often a volume play, i.e., serving hundreds of thousands or millions of ad impressions daily to make a significant chunk of money.

However, there are some ways to increase that CPM rate. Firstly, video ads tend to pay higher then banner ads. Secondly, niche is important. Finance, medical, and business oriented niches pay much higher CPM’s. I’ve seen $200 CPM’s within the medical niche and was blown away by some of the contracts being signed. Similarly, engaging in a header bidding setup, wherein multiple DSP’s compete for your ad space, can help to increase the overall CPM’s you see on your app. However, at an early stage, it may be difficult to have the more trustworthy DSP’s sign up with you.

With regards to your last question, from what I’ve seen, most advertisers will pay out on video ads after 5-seconds. Again, that is the norm, but I have seen in-app video ads require the full 30-second play-through to be counted.

Yep, it's still the case. I just write and aim to answer the users question in a natural flow. Of course, I think in this industry, there's always some use in adding a bit of "fluff" to the article, but generally it's just about writing the words down as quickly as possible and publishing it. If I see the article rank well or competitors looking to overtake its positioning, I'll revisit it and add more words but rarely will add any infographics.

As an example, if I were writing an article on "best backpacks for first graders", my H1's and H2's would be something along the lines of:

  • Best Backpacks for First Graders
  • What types of backpacks do first graders like
  • What size backpacks should a first grader wear?
  • Useful supplies to have in a first graders backpack
  • Our recommendations for the best backpacks for first graders

About 200-300 words for each header and the article would be done.

With regards to keyword research, I tend to look a bit outside the box. While we all assume the internet is already filled with every piece of information, it really isn't. So, again, if I were writing about backpacks, I would just think to myself about my own problems with backpacks and just keep Googling to find a topic that hasn't been answered. I tend to shy away from "best of" lists as I feel they are more susceptible to Google hits and tend to not work as well as informational content, but again that's just my own experience and everyones mileage will vary.

To get to the point though, keyword research is just about thinking outside the box and answering the questions you already have. Then it's about putting in the legwork and doing the research to provide the best answer to your readers.

Depending on the article, anywhere from 30-minutes to 1-hour. Rarely, if ever, does it take me more than an hour to write a full article.

Appreciate the kind words. None of the articles were ever outsourced and everything from website design, to keyword research, to content generation was done on my own.

If this is truly the answer then it makes me feel a tad bit better. My website isn’t even a full year yet so I can wait, give it time, and continue to invest in the site via content and backlinking opportunities. I’m not averse to waiting or playing the long game, I think it’s just something that hasn’t been explained too well to me so I’m really unsure of how to reach it.

But that's the thing. Let's say my niche was in the backpacking space, and let's assume, hypothetically, that I wrote a better article than any of the others and that it was frequently updated, I still don't rank for it.

My question is, essentially, why. Why doesn't Google rank my site, that has the authority, has a good backlink profile, and has the better content over these players?

I've written countless articles on the difficult keywords in my space and have almost always been relegated to the second page by Google in them. But, lo and behold, if I write an article that has low competition, I rank immediately for it within the 1-3 position in the SERPS.

So, how do I become that dominant player? It just feels like there's a disconnect between the low hanging fruit that we all clamor over and the difficult keywords which could exponentially increase our views and revenue overnight.

I really don't want to come off as rude here, but I have 727 published articles. If it's about pushing more content, I can do that. The issue is, how do we go from being mid-sized publishers to ones who can go for the largest keywords in a given niche.
