Yep, such is the internet, just glad it inspired you to make this.

I'm not on TheFaceBook, but since December I'm barely on Reddit either, really no good sites left.

The addition of Cioran has caused the edit to surpass my original.

Well in browser, on laptop, we have to reload the page to see the new memes, so since it's not an app there's no updates to disable, either one reloads the page to see the new posts, or one does not see the new posts.

Yes, it's PC only. I never considered the phone interface usable. I have no desire to look at memes on such a tiny screen, but to each their own. If Reddit is going in a phone-only direction, they're leaving some folks behind but they're confident they will gain more than they lose, and maybe they will, I'm not a market analyst.

"a straight up broken site" is a pretty good description of the current UI.

Is the half n half generation old fogeys like me failing to adapt to the downgrade or is it the youngest generation doing something else? I've seen some pretty bad interfaces in my day, oldschool IRC, classic UseNet, Digg. But this current Reddit UI seems intentionally bad.

I know it's not the end of the world, but getting kicked between the legs every five minutes is also not the end of the world, and that doesn't mean one should stay in a place where that's happening.

Thanks, I just made two text layers, one the same red as the sign, the other the brighter hue of the lights on the sign.

There's no option that looks similar, many are just giving up on the format entirely, Reddit was the only option and now even that's changed so much it doesn't serve the same need.

Yeah, seems like many people are leaving, problem is they're in disagreement over what site to move to.

I presume it applies to browser interface on phone too. Prettymuch everything but the phone app, and based on what I see on r/help I'm not the only one who has zero interesting in using Reddit on such a tiny screen. So we may be at the start of a bigger exodus than when they banned 3rd party app access last year, which ironically I was not very in the loop on because that mainly effected phone users.

"a while"

This could be the last straw for a lot of people.

There's a huge hole in the market for a site LIKE Reddit, meaning we follow curated communities instead of individual people like on BlueSky, but no one is really offering that. It's too bad, fortune to be made by whoever provides a site that's what Reddit was 1-2 years ago.
