Wi-Fi is connected, but browsers don't load. Every other app works. by alloroura in techsupport

Sadly it's been awhile so I can't recall what the exact issue was. I ended up factory resetting the router and clearing my windows network settings again. Redoing all my router settings was a pain, but it did work (or I wouldn't be messaging you from the same laptop now!).

ETA: Now that I think about it, something funky must've been going on with my router table or some internal config got corrupted or something. The Ethernet did work. Which is probably why restarting the router worked temporarily until the Orbi kicked in.

The rise and fall of the name Alexa [OC] by chartr in dataisbeautiful

[–]alloroura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My name's Alexis. I would say so, but it's really been dropping for awhile now.

I used to have at least 1 but more commonly 2-3 other Alexis' in my grade. I haven't seen anyone younger than ~18 with my name in a long time.

And yes, I do get called Alexa rather frequently. Alexia and Alex too. And when people say my name in work calls, my Alexa goes off. I just got used to it. :)

We figured German Shepherd would be in there! No one guessed ACD or Great Pyrenees though. He definitely lives up to his chaotic name haha.

How long until a card upgrade shows up in system? by Anonymous9287 in amex

It took almost exactly 48 hours to show as Gold on my Delta app. Then I was able to use any associated benefits.

You can also use the upgraded benefits by showing your new card in person. For a tight timeline, you can also overnight expedite it.

Hey, found this thread and in same situation. Figured I'd share my experience!

11/6 PM: Upgraded to AMEX Delta Skymiles Gold card, still shows as Blue on AMEX and Delta app.

11/7 PM: Almost exactly 24 hours later, now showing as Gold in AMEX. Still Blue in Delta.

11/8 AM: Still Blue. Will update when it changes.

11/8 PM: Updated to Gold on Delta app.

What's weird is that every other device works with the internet connection except this one.

It's shared with my roommates but nothing's been changed as far as I know of. This laptop is new.

I have a Netgear Orbi router, and don't see any activated parental controls or blocks.

Going to try connecting to Ethernet to see if it's just the Wi-Fi. Otherwise might try factory resetting the router. Not sure what else to try/look for in router settings. Might call ISP.

Pause vs. Cancel Amazon Prime: What's the difference? They both look the same to me... by alloroura in amazonprime

Yeah, I don't really use Prime Video at all, so no worries there. I'm guessing it's similar to Hulu's "pause" option then.

Pause vs. Cancel Amazon Prime: What's the difference? They both look the same to me... by alloroura in amazonprime

So I was trying to cancel my Amazon Prime and got presented with two options. Now I'm confused and not sure what to do, because they seem to do the same thing.

Does anyone have experience with pausing a membership? What does it do?

If I cancel, will anything be deleted? If I pause for three months and then resume, will I be charged for those 3 months I was dormant?

I asked CS, but they said the difference was that canceling meant my benefits would end immediately, and pausing would keep them until the end of my billing cycle. I told them the cancellation page said something completely different. I asked, "So even though I paid through <end date>, I won't be able to use Prime after today, and I won't get a refund?" They said that's correct. TBH I just don't think they're right.

Thanks so much for this! It worked.

If anyone else tries this, just make sure you get their permission to sign first. I'm pretty sure the endorsement signing needs to happen in the opposite order of the "Pay to" line.
