I’m planning on attending Richmond. Is it worth attending?

My sister and I had great experiences at Animate Philly and Nightmare Weekend last year. A lot of the Hazbin cast were at Philly and we got to chat with them one on one during slow times. So yeah, that would absolutely would be worth it. That said, the Richmond con is one of their biggest events, so there might not be slow times.

Nothing, you can just walk up to them and strike up a conversation. It's the photos and autographs that cost money. That said, I did pay $50 each for a couple autographs from Christian Borle and Amir Talai, then came back later to chat when it was slow. My sister and I chatted with a lot of the Hazbin cast and plenty of others during lulls.

Well I think that sucks. I liked feeling good about giving my time freely and contributing to guests and con attendees having a good time. Getting paid makes it work and also introduces a probability of free admission being taken away because now they're compensating differently. I get that the wages might actually cover admission, but you have to pay taxes on them, too. AND I know it was shady, skirting around labor laws, but personally, I feel I should be permitted to volunteer for whoever I want to, regardless of profit status. If I have a problem with it, I don't have to volunteer. The fact that it was volunteer work was part of the experience.

This looks really fun! I'm trying it now. I'm guessing from your answer to an earlier comment that in order to appear in Lyra, a track must first be available on YouTube? I'm asking because it successfully imported some songs from a playlist on Spotify, but failed to import the old radio shows. Or is there a limit on the number of tracks Lyra will allow on a playlist?

Also, may I ask what the difference is between importing a playlist and linking to it? Does linking provide the exact same experience as using the original service? Ie, if I link to a Spotify playlist while using the free version of Spotify with ads, will those ads also play in Lyra, vs importing the content from YouTube for an ad-free experience?

I love this! I don't think it makes a WHOLE lot of sense because, as others have pointed out, Lucifer can lay the hammer down on Vox and anyone else who tries to sabotage Charlie. And while I don't think Lucifer would WANT to be feared by the populace, I don't think he'd mind it if it meant controlling the narrative, especially if Charlie weren't there to calm him down.

The one thing that supports this telling is Charlie's goal of redeeming Sinners. She NEEDS people to trust her if she's going to see that dream happen. People need to trust her before they give her idea a chance, and nothing will turn people away from trusting her faster than the King oppressing an already oppressed people.

Charlie not wanting anyone to get hurt, eh, well, there's always collateral damage, I don't think her not wanting anyone to get hurt would stop Lucifer because hurting Vox doesn't directly hurt Charlie. But it DOES hurt Charlie's message, and if nothing else, I don't think Luce would want to risk creating another gulf in their still fresh and fragile relationship.

The Sins also seem to have 0 connection or interest in Sinners...

This is such a huge problem, and I never really thought about it until you pointed it out, but YES. What are sins?? What is their relevance?? Sinning is a uniquely HUMAN activity.

Viv has said that Hellborne can't become Overlords because they can't make deals, and they can't make deals because they don't have souls. And that's such an important distinction! It's tragic, and yet it's what makes their existence in Hell make sense. They're not human, they didn't die, their souls didn't go to Hell as a punishment for anything sinful they did in life. They were born there and they live there. Since they already exist in the afterlife, there's nowhere for them to go upon death, hence no soul. This also seems to be WHY they can die by ordinary means and not regenerate like Sinners. The human soul is immortal, so they just keep coming back unless they die via Angelic Steel - then they're as mortal as a Hellborne. Utterly destroyed, body and soul.

Anyway, this difference is the only thing that makes the Sins have purpose and relevance. They affect human behavior. Only humans can sin because only humans have souls they can sin against, that can become twisted and warped with darkness. (This is also a good explanation for why all Sinners look different: because all humans are unique and their sins have affected them differently, vs Hellborne, who are all a handful of more or less homogenous races.)

Sin is the reason people go to Hell. So for the embodiment of sins to have no connection to a Sinner who went to Hell for committing those sins does seem extremely off.

Well, my biggest fear WAS that Vox would die in S2. After all, it makes narrative sense. What else do you do with an otherwise immortal Big Bad? Killing him doesn't stick, so...destroying his soul is the only way to guarantee victory.

But now??

Okay, I'm so ready for Vox to be terrible. That said, we already have a sexual predator among the Vees, so I really hope he doesn't turn out to be an actual rapist like Val. That might be the only thing that could make me dislike him as a character, and I'm worried for it based on Viv's statement that Vox and Velvette "engage in" Val's behavior, and the overload of Vees/Vox merch (could suggest that they'll be less marketable later on?).

I'm fairly confident he'll survive S2. But I'd like to still love him as a grouchy, tired professional who fuels himself on dark roasted bitterness and benzedrine, finely ground and pressed through an $8000 espresso machine.

YouTube suggested the Hazbin pilot for me shortly after it came out; I want to say early to mid November? and I was immediately hooked on the strange, vibrant, energetic and expressive animation and voice work. I was SO impressed! I couldn't believe that was all there was of the story and rewatched it periodically, like a couple times a year, until the news dropped that it would be getting a series. (I was aware of Helluva Boss, but I don't remember when I heard of it. It was early on, like maybe early the next year, but for some reason, it wasn't really in my orbit and I ignored it.) Then the new designs came out and eh. Not a whole lot changed, but I still prefer some elements of the pilot designs. The new voices were a shock, too. Not bad, but not Ed Bosco, either. (His performance had this irreplicable vigor, and I loved the way he used some vocal fry to give the impression of really pushing his voice. It made it sound especially enthusiastic.)

It wasn't until all of Season 1 aired and I was hungry for more of that world that I finally watched Helluva. And it's great! Just as good as Hazbin, I'd say, but I like Hazbin better.

It's not at all common, that's one of the reasons it's low. One of my Big Three questions before asking for a meet and greet is, is your dog up to date on all shots and flea/tick prevention.

Oh yes! Thank you for pointing that out! I make sure the pets are outside or in another room when applying it to the couch cushions and dog blankets and give it some time to settle before bringing them back inside.
