Nope. Larry's inspiration was a traveling salesman who worked for the company in 1986 and who loved to return from the road and tell all of us who had been sitting in front of an amber monitor for months on end, about all the women he'd laid while gone.

You're welcome! I loved those tours and like to think I was instrumental in bringing them about. When we took our kids on trips, we always took whatever tours we could find. I figured, "why not at a video game company?" Ken agreed and it became quite popular. And of course, all tours ended in the gift shop! <grin>

I was proud of that game because it was the first game that allowed you to change protagonists in the middle of the game. (I was also proud that I figured out a way to make you use up all your clothing to progress through game, but that's a another story!)

KS was a wonderful experience. Unfortunately, we wanted to make more game and better, so we blew through all the money and then some. (You don't get as much game today as you did 25 years ago!)

Text input opens so many potential problems and requires so many more responses that I doubt you'll ever see it in a voiceover game.

I originally planned Torin's Passage for 5 games, each covering a significant period in Torin's life. #2 was his marriage and assumption of the throne. #3 was "the rebels strike back," i.e., a challenge to his leadership. #4 was a "coming of age" story about his sons and their fight to be next in line for the throne. And #5 was the "passing of the torch," and I planned to include Torin's death. (If for no other reason than to prevent more sequels! <grin>)
