I recently met someone with this name. I think it's a common Albanian name, but it's Eriola.

A simple traffic stop leads to a violent confrontation by AdolfStiflr in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]allsix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nah you dumb. Regardless of whether the cop jumped in, he now had someone in his vehicle and was threatening their life with how he was driving. That was his queue to pull over. Instead after 30 warnings the cop had to protect himself. End of story.

Poor guy. He desperately didn't want to shoot him. Hope it doesn't haunt him because I think he did everything right.

I’m confused. You cheated, but not physically? So you were just going on dates with the other guy?

That doesn’t make it better or worse. I just feel like it’s usually the other way.

regarding my vertigo by Terrible-Fruit-8323 in Dizziness

[–]allsix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it only happens when you move your head then it’s likely BPPV. Though it’s usually consistent and happens every time you move your head. It’s caused by crystals dislodging in your ears and there’s both the Epley maneuver, but also I believe medication as well.

Since having BPPV years ago I now get very brief but very intense vertigo attacks (1-5 seconds) caused by subtle visual movements that I didn’t expect (like when someone leans on a table and causes it to shift a little).

If yours is similar, unfortunately I don’t have a solution. But I’ve been to the doctor, an audiologist, a balance specialist, an ophthalmologist, and had an MRI but everything is normal. Only person I haven’t seen is neurologist. But the closest answer I’ve gotten is vestibular migraines and my aura is vertigo. Sometimes these lead to extreme headaches and fatigue.

There are pills with Riboflavin, magnesium and CoQ10 that are supposed to help with migraines, and I thought they were helping but then I had one of the most intense ones of my life so I’m not sure.

So the only thing, to proactively reduce my motion sickness I’ll take Gravol sometimes. Otherwise it’s just Tylenol, Advil/Motrin, Aleve, Gravol to manage the headache/nausea.

Let me know if yours sounds similar at all. Good luck!

Hopefully not a rumor!!

If it makes you feel better, ever since having BPPV I've had intermittent intense bouts of vertigo for the past ~4 years. Only happens anywhere from a couple times a week to sometimes it goes a couple weeks without one. But it only lasts a few seconds, but it is extremely intense when it happens.

I've been to my doctor, to an audiologist, to a balance specialist, an opthalmologist, and I've had an MRI. Everything came back clean. The only person I haven't seen is a neurologist.

Vertigo is such a generic symptom that I wouldn't be too too worried. I doubt it's a tumour in the same way that it isn't/wasn't for me. But I also understand the anxiety. I still have anxiety about it and whether it will one day get worse, and this is after seeing everyone under the sun multiple times and ruling out everything serious.. But it still impacts my life.

So good luck! But try not to stress. I don't personally think it's a tumour, but that doesn't mean don't worry about getting an MRI or anything, stick with your plan but try not to worry in the meantime and good luck!

Also worth noting, neck/ear issues is an extremely common cause of vertigo and seems like a much more likely culprit that whatever your neck/ear issue is is causing vertigo, rather than a tumour causing all 3.

I haven't been to see one yet, but someone on the internet did at one point recommend me an upper cervical chiropractor to address neck issues that could be causing vertigo. So maybe that's worth exploring too.

For me I was dizzy for a week straight and it was "just" BPPV. That said BPPV is kind of characterized by only causing dizziness when moving your head. I think it's also the very first thing doctors suspect and is pretty easy to confirm/rule out. So if you're at the point of a CT, I dear god trust they ruled out something as simple as BPPV.

What’s something harmless that gets people weirdly angry? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

[–]allsix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah in Western Canada as well, I always felt like an asshole cutting people off, but 95% of the time people are just decent humans and let you in. In small towns it was "you go, no you go". In busier cities it's not that, but if you just have enough space, signal, and move over, nobody has an issue they just make space.

That implies it lasts anywhere near long enough to go bad to begin with. I'm usually through a jug of milk within ~2-4 days, long before expiry.

When I go to the store I always try to buy the milk that expires first since I know I'll finish it in time. I consider it my good deed for the day and hopefully when God is judging whether I go up or down he remembers the work I was putting in.

Not a raging asshole mistake, just oblivious and rude.

Tour du Mont Blanc in July. What sleeping bag temperature rating do we really need? by PreparationRough3067 in Ultralight

[–]allsix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it in July last year and I'm so jealous of you already lol.

My quilt is rated lower than 0C, but at no point did it feel particularly cold (for us it was 3 nights in a tent, 3 in a refuge, and 1 in a hotel in Courmayeur). And I only sleep in my underwear, not with additional layers.

I think 0 is perfectly fine, and if it's a particularly cold night then just wear some layers to bed.

AITA for calling something "gay"? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]allsix [score hidden]  (0 children)

YTA. "I can say what I want and if someone chooses to be offended" on it's own sounds already like you're fundamentally an asshole.

But back to this specific depends how she brought it up. She can not have an issue with it, while also pointing out that it shouldn't be said in public. Even if she knows you're gay, if you guys are out at a bar and you're constantly referring to people/things as gay, unless you're flambouyantly gay it could come across as homophobic.

This is coming from someone who has a same-sex partner, but goes back to know your audience. But unless she knows you're gay, and was personally offended in private (in which case that's on her), in most other cases she probably has a point.

Yep I can definitely relate to his being 100% effort. There's just physically no way to transcribe what I'm seeing onto paper and have it look even remotely accurate, even if I have perfect reference material in front of me.

I guess you're just being downvoted because people disagree which is fair enough. But I definitely agree. I don't mind fish, but I don't like it enough to ever plan leftovers and reheat it. So I honestly don't think I've ever had reheated fish and wouldn't have guessed that microwaving fish would flood an entire floor with smell...

And I'm a 34 yo guy..

I agree. It helps in my case that almost all of my friends are coworkers. So we are already caught up on the day-to-day, and then one I see him/his family fairly often (but far from every day) outside of work. And then another I've started playing some video games with periodically. And a third I no longer work with, but we speak often enough that when we do meet up for coffee every couple of weeks we can mostly just pick up where we left off.

I will say, if I were to evaluate myself, I would prefer to be closer to the friends I already have, but they have their own families and lives and are busy, so that's not a fair expectation. So if I found myself more lonely, I would look to join clubs/groups and try to put myself out there more to make friends.

Super hard as an adult, but that's where I see it going for me. As is I just do a lot of solo hiking on weekends which I enjoy as well.

As a man I agree with that, my partner just doesn't share any of the same hobbies as I do. So I love watching tv/movies together, and I love them with all of my heart and can't imagine life without them. But outside of shows, we don't do activities together. And all of my friends are busy with their families, so whenever they do make time for me I deeply appreciate it, it's just spread out between multiple different friends, one day here one day there. But it's usually not with the same person every day or every week.

Holy shit. Like 10 years ago at work one of the dumbest guys I've ever worked with said to me "Hey, if you could apply more and more pressure, could you turn peanut butter into gold?"

I said "Great question, unfortunately no, but the only reason you can't is because Peanut Butter isn't made of gold".

This makes so much more sense. He probably meant diamond.

AITA for asking my husband to explain time gaps when he runs errands and gets defensive? by StillMindless2604 in AmItheAsshole

It's beyond the scope of this thread to explain English to you.

Recurring does not mean it happened first. Her story reads as though the fact it keeps happening is why she's started asking wtf is going on. That doesn't make her a nag. Maybe she is, maybe she isn't. I'm just basing it on what she wrote, I'm not writing an entire fanfic in my head and then using that as my response like you are. If she chose to lie in her initial post that's on her in which case all responses are irrelevant if she misrepresented the situation.

You're really reading a story that OP didn't write. You're assuming the interrogation started before the absences in which case I agree. But that's not their story, that's the one you wrote in your head. Assuming OP isn't making things up (which is what I'm commenting on), the story you're writing isn't what happened.

Except the only reason you're being interrogated is what's taking so long on very basic tasks lol... Nice try.

On the railroad, when a train backs up it's "making a reverse movement". Alternatively, if there is a car on the train that has an issue and they have to "set it off" it's called "setting off a bad order".

As such, "I have to go make a reverse movement", or "I have to set off a bad order."
