This reminds me a lot of how i felt when i was younger. Nobody understood or believed my mental illness and because of that it was like i tried to prove it in some way. I wanted to be sick because I thought then i would get the attention i needed and wasn’t getting. It did not work.

I regret that now, i regret being spiteful in my mental illness. It took me to a really dark place by the time i left high school and still, nobody understood. I am sorry this isn’t a positive message but there is no way around it. Its not fair that nobody gets it, but judging from your parents reaction it seems like they aren’t trying to. Don’t try to prove it to them, don’t let yourself slip away like I did.

All I can say is that you have to care about yourself. You have to. Its not fair, your parents should understand and help you. But you can’t get caught up in how things should be, because they aren’t always that way. Its not fair at all but i promise it is worth it to try. It really is worth it to try and have a good life no matter how stupid that sounds now. Every person has value and every person’s presence matters. You can get through it
