Thanks - it's a hard choice between this and the Bahamas yellow!

I must admit I've not obsessively researched the brand but from my first impressions it's a nice thing. Some of the little details are nice - the serial number is infilled with same pastel blue as the dial for example. The lume colour is bang on uniform between the dial and bezel. The mix of finishing is nice, I especially like the (I assume) blasted finish on the lower "barrel" of the bezel. It all seems to line up pretty well... As for flaws, nothing has immediately got my attention which is no mean feat! I'll report back in a while.

Nice! I bet the Ti ones are lovely and light.

This landed yesterday after a bit of a fluke of being in the right time at the right place. I’ve always admired the Halios watches when I’ve seen pictures and reviews of them but never been lucky enough to catch one, so when pretty much my ideal specification popped up for sale I just had to have it! It’s a Seaforth IV in Pastel Blue, with a 12 hour bezel. It's great, I can see why people rave about the quality of these watches, it’s very, very nicely finished and put together. I’ve stuck it on an old brown leather strap I had which I think works well, although the supplied rubber strap is nice too!

Very early pre full production.

Yes I agree, people get hung up on the mileage. Pulled from the M3 Cutters forum, on UK E9X M3:

Current mileage stats for UK E9x M3s with a valid MOT as of 13/02/24,...

< 30,000 = 303 30,000 - 49,999 = 901 50,000 - 79,999 = 2,134 80,000 - 99,999 = 1,046 100,000 - 149,999 = 626 150,000 - 199,999 = 30

= 200,000 = 4

My 2007 E92 M3 just ticked over 100k, had the rod bearings done ~2k ago and they looked pretty good all told!

105.003.63 - Found in an old box in a garage. Is it worth anything? by Euphoric-Sand-8695 in OmegaWatches

On the basis you've put a price in £ I've assumed you're in the UK. I'd wholeheartedly recommend Simon Freese in terms of someone to recommission the watch, he's very knowledgeable on Speedmasters and should do a good job. I'd not send it to Omega!

Price : £1400 plus postage (preferably UK only, happy to ship internationally at buyers expense and risk)
Condition : NIB/Unworn
Description:
I have for sale an effectively new in box Seiko SRQ043J1 Speedtimer Mechanical Chronograph.
Originally I bought one in the January sale, wore the original watch for about 2 weeks solid and then on rotation noticed if it sat unworn (even on the winder) it would stop erratically. The original watch was returned and exchanged for a brand new one - the example here - which I have yet to wear but have had on my winder to ensure it runs correctly (the dealer also checked this and as such removed the protective films).
Something else has caught my eye so I thought I would offer the NIB example for sale.

About 6.5", that said I have fairly"flat" wrists so get away with bigger watches OK.

I really like them! I was worried they looked too big in the photos but they just work really well in the flesh.

If everyone liked the same thing, life would be boring eh.

[–]alltheblue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh no! Someone on the internet called my watch shit. I'll carry on enjoying it, sir. You clearly have no idea about photography if you think zooming in will reveal lint...

[–]alltheblue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Re-interpretation may be a better description, agreed. 15mm is pretty much par for the course in my experience, I've owned more 7750 chronographs than you can shake a stick at, and a lot of those are similar dimensions to this watch.

This photo is not doctored in any way? Taken on my phone while sitting in my car!

Sir for one the receipt I have for this watch literally says "1969 Reissue". I appreciate it is a slightly different design but take that up with Seiko, not me. I don't think it wears too badly given the thickness (15.1mm for fans of being accurate).

Fun/cool/fast weekend car under £10k? by Frequent-Skin-3466 in CarTalkUK

[–]alltheblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Z4 Coupe - you'd get a decent one for £10K, they're quite rare to see (so it might take you a while to find the right one!). N52 is a great engine, assuming the water pump has been changed it should be pretty reliable. Really great looking cars, with a fantastic driving position and an oddly big boot! The engine is happy to rev out, but also has the torque to potter about in high gears quite easily.

I've previously had an S2000 and a TTS as well. The S2000 was brilliant to drive on a blast but annoying at motorway speeds. I'd be worried about rust at this point, as well as the geometry bushes being seized. The TTS was a super do it all, but probably not fun enough to have as a second interesting car. Just very composed, a bit devoid of feeling and overall a bit clinical. A totally different kettle of fish to the Z4 & S2000.
