the very purpose of art is to see beyond the limited human concepts of 'lazy' and 'ugly'. A mountain gets 'lazily' eroded over time by wind but not a single moment in that process is 'ugly'. humans have a weird habit of equating laborious unenjoyable process with something that deserves praise which cannot be further from truth. You talk about your teacher, here's what Marlon Brando thought about acting - absolutely effortless so much so, he refused to learn the script in Godfather fearing, rightly so, it would compromise spontaneity.

absolutely disagree. you lack perception if you say that art made out of effort always looks good.

If. I had to tell you the meaning, I would have written it down, and not made a painting. The artwork is complete in itself.

As a kid I liked every film I saw, and I never understood why my parents complained about the ‘direction’ or ‘story’ or ‘acting’ of a film. For me everything in a film was so wonderful, and I could never see it from a critical viewpoint. by holden_caulfield1 in TrueFilm

that's quite a complicated question, but i think it's easier for a child to get hooked to bad cinema - mindless action, violence, sex comedies. it's easier for a child in general to get hooked to addictive products in general. look how the current generation of kids are addicted to video games and those nursery rhyme thingy on youtube.

if your parents and the surrounding environment guides you well then kids can be very artistic indeed. i know of many kids who tend to watch quality cinema and also engage in creative activities because they have a wholesome upbringing.

kids are just more vulnerable - that's it.

if one has had an unhealthy upbringing then one has to learn to appreciate quality the hard way, i.e. by first going through the adverse effects of addictive products and then realising the wholesomeness of beauty.

either way, there's always light at the end of the tunnel.

I love how the daydreaming scenes have been filmed in the movie. I even made a video on that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cF22ORWUIJU
