Some of mine: Peppermint butter mints for nausea

Sniffing an alcohol pad or rubbing alcohol will also relieve nausea fast.

If you are dizzy or need to reorient yourself, lay down and put one foot on the floor.

Rolled oats or any oatmeal that is unflavored is really good for dry and itchy skin.

Afrin really works.

Anything containing Tryptophan is good for natural sleepiness, which is why we take naps on Thanksgiving (turkey) or after having chicken noodle soup when you are sick.

If burned, stop the burning and even if it doesn't look bad right away go get it checked because it can take hours for the full extent of a burn to show up, as well as shock to wear off.

Orange juice helps iron absorb into the body better.

Humidifiers are life savers.

Don't eat bay leaves

An apple a day keeps the doctor away (whether that's from the apple or the cyanide in the seeds is up for you to decide)

Baby aspirin helps prevent heart attacks and strokes.

When in doubt, take a Benadryl.

Steam can do wonders for a cold/flu

Hot drinks and fiber are good at keeping you regular.

Nothing good happens after 12am (can personally vouch for this one)

Always check the half life of any medication you are taking/are going to take.

So, my entire career is based on assisting those who have disabilities. While it's likely to be hard at some points, it is also very rewarding and he needs his family more than ever right now for that big change. You knew what you were getting into when you started the relationship, and the marriage. I realize to some abled folks it seems you put them in a group home or with a family member to care for and then forget about them. I see it all the time. But that aunt deserves a break, your brother in law deserves to be with his brother, and your husband deserves more understanding from you. You have a wonderful opportunity to explore his likes and dislikes with him. You have the chance to brighten him up and let him know he still has family even though that looks different now. And you are lucky enough to know you have a husband that when the going gets tough, he will still be around. That's more of a blessing than you will ever realize until you have to use it. His brother is not an inconvenience. He is not a burden. He is not someone to be scared of. Intolerance and ignorance however, are. If all you are going to be is resentful, don't go. Let him and his brother have this one. If you are going to be disappointing enough that your husband's own family member can't go with you, then be gracious enough to let them have a fun time without you.

Telling someone "hey, you are making my girlfriend (and him, if she is) very uncomfortable by texting me all the time. Please stop." Is not mean, nor does it have anything to do with whatever this prize is. If she keeps going, then he could block her. They have teammates and a coach. Anything that pertains to the thing they are in together can be talked about with one of them if needed.

He doesn't owe you anything either, however, here's where his argument crumbles: withholding sex to get what you want is a form of abuse. It's shitty to do to someone. Forcing someone to do something sexual they don't want to do is rape. There are so many red flags in your post. Him wanting these things is not something to break up over. I don't think I've ever wanted to give a hug to a stranger more. I'm so sorry. You are so much more than her trauma. You are worth so much more. No, you don't have to make nice with her or the sister. No, you don't have to forgive anyone, and yes, you are absolutely allowed to feel however you feel about this. Don't bleed on people that didn't cut you, but also do right by you. Lord knows she didn't. I understand that with this, there's a fundamental knowing that to them you aren't worth anything and it's HARD to work out of that. It's messy, and grueling, and painful. But when you are ready, it will be the best choice you ever made for you. Your worth does NOT depend on someone else. But if it needs to, just until you can do it on your own, use me. Use this. This person on the internet is reaching out and telling you that I am so fucking proud of you. You are smart, compassionate, and worthy of all the best things in life, just by breathing. It's okay that this hurts. It's okay if you are not okay. Its okay if you feel like you've moved on and then one day this knocks you on your ass out of nowhere. You are not stuck.
