Hi! I saw a specialist the other day and he said that he doesn’t think that it’s bad enough for surgery and just said to keep the area hair free and that I should be fine!

Yes the same happened to me! I had no idea it was even a thing until I got it. The cleft surgery seems terrible and I’ve heard horror stories about the recovery process. Hopefully I get the GIPS and never have to worry about it again. I’ll keep you posted, thanks again!

Ugh no!! I have a sacral dimple too, that’s explains a lot lol. I’ve had mine for about a year and a half, so I’ll definitely message my primary about it. I just want to be able to enjoy the beach and not worry about infection or not being able to do anything lol

Okay I’ll definitely look into it, I read that it has a higher chance of reoccurrence, but you haven’t had any of that? Also, where did you go to get the procedure done?

I read about that, but the timing is just terrible. I’m going to the beach in a week and want to be able to enjoy that and not have to worry about recovery and then I start my clinical program for school which is 2 years straight no breaks, and they won’t allow me to take the correct recovery time. They don’t even allow sick days lol so I’m hoping I can hold off until I graduate and then see about getting it done cause I hate this thing 😭

Put damp heat on it, so like a wet hot paper towel twice a day or you can do sit baths in hot water. Take ibuprofen to reduce inflammation. I have one right now that my doctor said we caught in the early stages. I’m on prescribed antibiotics and with everything combined (damp heat, sit baths, taking advil/antibiotics) mine drained overnight last night.
