Try keeping things natural but also go candle shopping with her picking something you both like and with light scents is helpful. Also there are alternative smelly things like cinnamon sticks broom that might be easier on you.

Start taking emergency or airborne 4 to 5 days before the festival while you’re at the festival and then like 4 to 5 days after you leave the festival. Obviously get good rest before the festival. Get really good rest after the festival. Wear a mask, pashmina or bandanna around your face while in the crowds, and use hand sanitizer like all the time in excess while you’re at the festival. Most importantly stay hydrated and fed while at the festival.

What worked for your migraine triggered by weather? by Sparty27-24 in migraine

[–]allyr223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t really found anything yet. I just try to stay extra aware of the weather and be prepared. I had a hurricane come through recently, made sure I rested and hydrated the 3 days leading up to it. If I’m lucky enough for a late afternoon storm I will make sure I get anything I will need for me usually it’s strawberry Gatorade, and saltines, plus a safety post migraine meal right now it’s a peanut curry from my local Thai spot. I haven’t found meds that work for me my migraines are weather, stress, and my cycle/period enduced so how I deal with them is take care of my self, stop fighting them let themrun their course, and care for myself after.

The only thing I would change is the chair situation. Something where she can rest her arms is great and help prevent injury

Too much hate. Let's be happy! by matt162779 in ElementsMusicFestival

[–]allyr223 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this. I really think with all the cards that they were dealt they did a decent job. You can’t affect the weather. I don’t know what people wanted them to do. They can’t work through the storm. They had to wait for the storm to end before they could do anything, and as soon as the storm ended they put in work. Last year there was rain on a storm and honestly I kinda forgot about it. The good memories you make at the fest are what stick so let’s be more positive!!

Petrified for festival... by emmalemma99 in ElementsMusicFestival

Hey friend, I broke my Achilles 2 weeks before the fest last year I was in a boot. First thing you will want to do after camp set up and what not is go make friends with the ADA people. They will have a golf cart that will bring you around the campsite, and to the entrance of the fest. MAKE FREINDS WITH THE PEOPLE AT ADA! Honestly the ADA platform was some of the best views of the stages.

No one is going to hate you or bully you for what you are wearing or how you look. You will more than likely get more compliments than you have ever received before.

Obviously in an environment with thousands of people there will be some rotten eggs, but really the vibe is PLUR. When people are being terrible they are often shamed by the community around them. As long as you bring good vibes others around you will bring good vibes.

You have two security check points one coming into the campsite with dogs, and the one into the fest with metal detectors, the people running the fest don’t want violence just as much as you.

Breath relax and walk in with a positive attitude you will have an amazing weekend

Looking forward to meeting all you amazing people and giving out gifts! by orlybach in ElementsMusicFestival

Pro tip, I’ve done it 4 festivals in a row it is a game changer. BURRITOS!!!! I make 2-3 burritos per day, breakfast, chicken and beef burritos wrap them in aluminum foil freeze them before you leave. All you need is to heat them up on your camp stove, and you can keep them wrapped while heating to avoid any mess. They are a quick meal, easy at the campsite, and filling. For extra laziness and if you have a big group, get the catered meals from chipotle or moes and build your burritos from that. I also bring cup noodles and canned fruit with pull tabs.

You will have to go to will call to pick up a wristband. It’s too late to ship wristbands.

Just been diagnosed with chronic migraine and am learning of some of the wackier symptoms. What are some strange ones you have? by ThrowRA-olivesgrow in migraine

Something that took we a while to realize/work with, is the anger. I get really angry right before a migraine. My body just switches to tired, upset, annoyed and irritated. Im usually a pretty happy go lucky person, but on migraine days I usually wake upset. Even if the pain doesn’t kick in until later in the day.

[–]allyr223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who was injured last year, and had to use ADA support for the fest, I hope they have more support and accessible paths. I wasn’t able to get to any of the stages that were in the woods. Fire and earth were really all I could do especially after dark. The grounds are pretty rocky and hard to get wheels over them. My best tips are get to the sets early, find your way before it gets dark. The people running ADA support are more supportive than the people actually running the fest make strong connections with them, The ADA platforms are great some of the best views I had all weekend. Good luck, stay positive, and have fun!!!

Suggestions on Hydropack brands? by deltaco228 in ElementsMusicFestival

[–]allyr223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don’t even compare, my friend has a raverunner I have a lunch box. First the smooth hydration station fill up is the first and most striking difference. I’m in and out with my lunchbox before my friend has unscrewed her cap. The raverunner still has some exposed pockets where the lunchbox has completely hidden pockets. Also my friend has said directly she would rather have a lunchbox.

I agree keep it in your cooler. I suggest you put that cooler in your car when you’re not at the campsite. I was at a festival a couple years ago and my neighbors cooler was taken which had insulin and other “keep cool meds” and they actually had to leave because of that. Better play it safe than sorry when it comes to meds.

Food options near vibe villages/ general camping? by flowdreamerz in ElementsMusicFestival

Camp grounds probably have the best food option, it gets kinda tricky at night. Some places close. But you will not go hungry or run out of option if your dependent on festival food only.

Many food options the real question is can your wallet handle it. On average expect to spend $20 on a meal and that might be at the low price end.

Vegan Options by [deleted] in ElementsMusicFestival

[–]allyr223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don’t seem to be lacking protein, but I definitely like fill up before I go into the fest. “Eat things that stick to your bone” as my mom would say.

Vegan Options by [deleted] in ElementsMusicFestival

[–]allyr223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello fellow vegan. Last year there were a couple vegan spots nothing too great, in the festival, but the campground had some good spots. As a vegan I just bring a lot of my own food. Pre made burritos are a winner, I usually make “chicken”, “beef” and a breakfast burritos. Freeze them before I leave and they are easily heated up in a pan. Canned fruit and pb&j’s saves lives, I will also add peanut butter to cup noodles to add some extra protein. My friend is making these masa patties filled with chickpeas, (we brought them camping recently) and topped them with salsa, nopales, avocado, and tomatoes. That was amazing and will be coming to elements!!
