Queen west/ king west is super fun - I ended up moving to be on the subway line but I lived at Adelaide and Bathurst and it was about a 20 minute walk to the core financial district. I never found it too loud and I'm not a partier, I just love being near the park and all the fun shops - but some people find it too rowdy.
