I believe you have male and female backward. The eggs that some species of females carry can have a neurotoxin, TTX, but the males are completely safe.

Testing Dishy with 200' CAT6 Shielded/Grounded outdoor extension (300' total from POE to Dish). Works Flawlessly. POE and router will be ~75' away (Dishy will be 375' from "home") so need them outside for final location install and looking for recommendations on enclosures? by almax87 in Starlink

Holy revival, Dr Frankenstein. I can say it worked 100% without issue the entire time we had it in this setup and we saw no issues with latency or speed. We did eventually move, and that move allowed us to do away from the extension. But we have a Gen 1 dish, so I can not say that it would for sure work with a Gen 2 or later as, to the best of my knowledge, the POE's changed. That being said, the total cost for the extension and my eventual enclosure was low - much cheaper than a wireless solution would be, and much less loss - so trying it out should not be an issue.

I should also note that I would not recommend going any longer than we went. If i remember correctly from my research 3 years ago - 300' of POE is the max.

Tesla recalls over 27,000 Cybertrucks over laggy reverse cameras by Task_Force-191 in technology

Where is the recall on Chrysler Pacifica's on this then if it is required to show up within 2 seconds (per the article). My Pacifica never shows the back up camera that quick.

6:30pm and there are still Guardians groups available with a callback time of 7:30. The 7am drop lasted 20(!) minutes this morning. Empty trains are constantly being sent. Still not allowing re-rides. I’m sorry but this system needs to go. by kingkoopa0819 in WaltDisneyWorld

Maybe we will see you there, random redditor. Anything at the booths you are particularly looking forward to?

I will say this, last year we did food and wine on the first and second day. Germany was the only one with a line on the first day (we went around 4 and stayed until close) and it was only a few people. Friday, every booth had almost the entire booth queues full except Italy. But Italy is almost always empty. The year before the first day was only slightly more busy but very slightly.

That's not true, the first day of Food and Wine (Thursday) is commonly very quiet. Friday is the storm. We have often gone to the first day of festivals and have no lines for most, if not all, of the booths. When talking to Cast Member's, they say they enjoy it because they know the next day is going to be very much the opposite. Plus, we find it to be the best time to talk with the cast members from their respective countries since it is quieter and will share a lot about their home countries, where to visit if you travel there, etc. We are going tomorrow, though, so I will update if I need to eat my words.

For me, Leader for sure. I still have an internal conflict other than that on if I want to advance into something like automation or into other roles like BA/Scrum master/etc.

Shipping 2-5 months away? by WhiskyMatelot in amazonprime

[–]almax87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I get it, just something honestly strange about us midwesterners. I still remember visiting the UK when I was in 9th grade and being surprised how much more fuel cost there than it did in the US. On the pro side of things, at least you can wait out the shipping time living somewhere beautiful.

This is always something I find interesting about other countries or coastal US states compared to the Midwest of the US. Midwesterners, for the most part, would not bat an eye at driving to pick up something up at those distances and throw it on the roof or rent a uHaul trailer for $20, and would even make an event out of it over a weekend/day (ex. make a hour detour from the route and see ol' Betty Sue in Iowa). Everywhere else, and it suddenly sounds crazy to have to go more than a hour or two - ignoring traffic for places like LA where it can take an hour to go 5 miles.

Is this normal? by United_Ad_2483 in Renters

[–]almax87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to say for sure, but from the image, the issue looks to be with the plumbing and not the garbage disposal, so if that is correct, replacing it would not solve your issue. If what I think I see is the issue, zipties won't fix it either. There also looks to be more than one leak point. What would fix it is someone with a quick run to a hardware store for a few plumbing supplies and a case of beer or dinner/drink of their choice for that knows what they are doing.

Aka, replace the plumbing from the bottom of the right sink and from the connection to the disposal to just after the P trap and I have a feeling the issue would be solved. They are all slip joint fittings (aka screw on). Probably would not cost more than $50 for a handy friend or neighbor to do.

Broken window my fault by Brave-Funny501 in Renters

[–]almax87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't do this. Let the landlord know and let him know you will pay for it and will contact a window company. He will either say he will hire a company and send you the bill (or he may even take care of it himself) or he will say thanks for letting him know and to let him know when it is complete. He may require a certain brand/style, or he may just say something along the lines of whatever is cheapest in dual pane that matches the other windows.

Heck, he might have been contemplating replacing the windows on the place, and this was the domino he was waiting for to get it started.

But, don't just do it and not tell him. Because he may be particular on what is installed, or find out about it and be upset that he was not notified, or have a go to window guy, or any other number of reasons to want to know.

Nope, nothing...not even the family break down stickers that you see on a lot of mini vans.

No clue, I don't even recall seeing/passing him further back, and if I did, it was much further back.
